Olise is dissed mostly for PSG and France semifinal games

Wtt is Kane even dissed for. Argentina game he was really invisible

Yamal was better in the semifinals than either Kane or Olise who were basically invisible. At least he got a pen, set up some good chances. The feck did Olise do except losing almost every ball he touched?

Haaland was shite vs England also. Even asked himself to be subbed because he was out of air. Yamal, even if he wasn't at his best, showed up as the tournament moved on in the later stages. The other players kind of ran out of steam and had bad games as competition got stiffer.

That was the difference. Yamal built momentum while not great, others deflated during the competition.

See him dribble past 5 PSG players on his own and pass it to Ferran only for him to shoot it in the opposing defender

You also have to look at Spain's system. They have a patient possession based system. Yamal doesn't have the same license to just abuse 1 vs 1 until it works. They favor keeping the ball, circulating it until they find a way to provide better passes to better placed teammates.

De La Fuente was not really taking the same risks as other managers.
 
Yamal already got his signature international tournament as well. The Euro was goated.

Will be a travesty when they give the Balon to a player like Kane. Yamal already has a vastly superior career at 19 :lol:

Only one I would accept if not Yamal is Kane. Everything else would be making ridicule of this sport

But Yamal deserves it more than him. I understand the season Kane had but he didn't win the CL or WC. Several ballon d'ors in last few years have been givem to players because of their trophies

And Yamal doesn't just have trophies, he has a very good individual club season. So you have to keep the standards same for every year
 
If Prime Lewa didn't win the Ballon, why should Parry Pane? Lewa won the treble and the UCL as well, which Kane will probably never do.

I think people don't remember how great Lewa was because we saw the worst of him when he was here.

For me, I'm taking Prime Lewa over Prime Kane without even blinking.

Lewa is probably the best ST in the last decade. I would take him over Suarez anyday.

Kane doesnt even come close.

So because Lewy got robbed, we shouldn't give it to Kane?

Lewy getting robbed was when the public perception of this award's credibility started to change drastically. There was absolutely zero buzz in the last few Bdors except when Madrid threw their toys out of the pram and acted like total bitches in 2024. :lol:

And Lewy's robbery generated far more headlines and conversations globally than normal Bdor ceremonies do. People still haven't forgotten it today. In a way that's much bigger than the lil French magazine award.

Whoever wins BD this season is gonna be controversial no matter what. Neither had an impressive season from start to finish. Might as well give it Yamal for winning the biggest titles as the most important player in both Spain and Barcelona. Even if far from a slam dunk.

It has to be someone from Spain, and Yamal is the one that was most consistent and influential over the season. Messi had a weak final, if he played better in the final, he'd be my pick.
