It will be an interesting semi against Chelsea, they have been spending like there is no tomorrow in a quest to win the CL. I would say FC Barcelona right now is in a transition period after the departure of Giraldez, I'm not so critical as many others have been of Romeu but a better manager would be preferable. This season several big name players have left and I'm pretty sure there will be more this summer with multiple clubs looking to sign either of Aitana, Patri, Putellas or Hansen. The fact they have signed/will sign new contracts won't change their appeal in the market. More and more money is being showelled into the women's game, rumor has it Aitanas clause was activated while she was negotiating a new contract with Barsa and there will be new bids this summer, I'm sure.

Both NWSL and the Super League are gearing up to be where the majority of all the talent will end up, both leagues have way more sponsors and the general interest in women's football is far greater in both England and USA. I fear that the fairytale of FC Barcelona women's team being a European powerhose will be fairly short lived as it will be increasingly difficult to retain top talent when big money spending clubs from England and USA come knocking on the door. Sure for the time being the club can fend of the inroads, but it will become increasingly difficult.

Still, the club has a lot of talented young players, Lopez, Paraluello, Schertenleib and Dragoni are all future world class players.

Downfall is coming soon, expected as Fatporta is cutting the costs in only section that still made this finished club proud.

Even during the international break, Barça continues to make history in women's football. Against Portugal, in the starting lineup lined up by Montse Tome, all the players have a past or present history with the Blaugrana club. Eight of them are current players, while the remaining three were Barça players during their careers.

4-0 HT, Aitana (2), Salma and Alexia.

The game could have ended 12-0 and it would not have been an exaggerated scoreline, Portugal was an absolute disaster, Spain was just toying with them. IF it wasn`t for the questionable defense, I would bet the house on them winning the Euros. It is the only real weakness of the team. Spain has easily the best midfield and attack of all national teams, especially when you look at the depth.
