Neah, don't think so, even PSG with their very strong attack couldn't score at home vs. LFC even though they did it on Anfield.

Madrid is nowhere near their attacking prowess atm.

Yeah dude but you have to consider PSG had over 4xG vs Liverpool, it was a miraclr that they didnt score 2-3 goals 🫠

In the first part of the season they've looked impressive, leading PL convincingly and winning CL group stage isn't an easy thing to do, at all.

Yes in 1st half they were probably the best team itw, they peaked to wrong time. PSG on the other hand was average/good in 1st half but in 2nd they exploded

Hansi Flick on his future at Barça:
“I’m really enjoying my time here. The staff, the players, everyone — they’re unbelievable. The atmosphere is fantastic, like a family. I love living in Barcelona, and I’m full of energy and ideas to keep improving this team.”

“But I’m NOT the type of coach who signs a 3-year deal just to feel secure. I want to work for this club, the best club in the world — step by step, paso a paso.”

“Right now, it’s one year… then we’ll see. If everyone’s happy, we move forward together. But I’m focused on the present — we’ve got a lot of work to do.”

Flick: "The important thing is the physical foundation. Deco did an incredible job because he brought in people who know what they're doing, and he does what the players need."

Have you seen the state of PL?
It was liverpool comepeting with themselves.

This is a good point. In the first half season people had high expectation of City, so Liverpool doing well was related to besting that City side.

As the season went on it was apparant that City are this season, well, a bit shit.

Which put much in perspective.

Jury is still out on whether Deco is a good SD or not as he's not really had the chances or luxury others in his position have with signings elsewhere in Europe, but him hiring Julio Tous have been integral to our players much improved fitness level, as well as the other hires with specialists in injury prevention and strength training.

Agree. From the club with the most injuries in the recent past to one of the clubs with the fewest injuries in 2025, especially if you don't look at the long term injuries that happened during the season's start, where Deco's physio team didn't have enough time yet to implement their program. It's no coincidence. Xavi's team was really bad in that department and he wanted to continue with them, one of the reasons Deco didn't want to extend with Xavi.
Our 2025 form is the direct result of it, as it allows the players to get to their peak form staying healthy (look at Pedri's form between his injuries and now, injury free) and Flick to rotate properly and use nearly all players.

Some good points there (your more serious ones), but would never really happen as they'd change the game too much. I think some would help, though.

How do you feel about stop clocks and sin bins? Too Americanised? I like the idea of the former to stop time wasting, but wouldn't work from a TV schedule POV as games could go on for hours even if two 30 min halves with a stop clock.

Sins bins is too American for me and would be very jarring, but some like it.

As for 9 subs, I just think changing basically the whole team kinda makes a mockery of the game, but you could be right and football is definitely heading that way. Everything gets expanded. As I said to @soul24rage, it wouldn't surprise me if we see 32-man international tournament squads in the next 20 years (far too many but that is the way it is going).

Some good insights there though, have seen some of your posts and always a good read.

Edit: agree on inheriting cards. It fucking pisses me off when some hatchet man makes foul after foul, finally gets a yellow, then the coach hooks him to prevent a likely red.

stop clocks = no more players feigning cramps ✅

Also an Aye for either Sin Bins vs new card colors for half & quarter fouls as refs would get too confused and forget the count.

Would need a bin big enough to hold the entire Getafe butchershop + Bordarlas though 😆

In Belgium, refs are mic'd up like in the NFL

And also cheerleaders, half-time challenges, the kiss-cam and mascots would be a sensible start 😁

If you start stopping the clock the game will go on for 3-4 hours.

It's BS

I actually like idea of stopping the clock. There would be times when things look strange but it would iron itself soon. Would need to be automatic as these refs take too much liberties with stoppage time.

We also need to go back to giving cards for diving. Noticed refs aren't as rigours in that regard as before.

Only in LaLiga.

They would have to cut games to about 30-35 minutes per half. IIRC LaLiga has the lowest time for ball in play for all the top leaves in Europe.

Actually in PL they have come up with a super smart solution by having spots around the pitch with extra balls to take when it goes out of play. No slowing down of play by ball boys and shithouse sides like Getafe and Atleti in the last minutes.

I am comparing it to NBA
48 min NBA games go 3-4 hrs.

90 mins +15 HT def going 3 hours min.

It will get corrupted for sure without a Euro wide implementation.

I looked it up and Atleti games have had 45 mins of inplay while Madrids and ours 60+. That's an issue.

Best way to combat is to speed up timewasting when ball goes out for throw ins and corners imo like England are doing.

Also one that I said for years, when a team is fouled, the FK taker (not captain) should be able to hold his hand in the air signalling a quick freekick, and they should be able to take it without the opposition being ready for the play, or the referee blowing for the play.

No point having the advantage of a freekick with the fouling team reaping the advantage of the freekick, and current referee's pulling back quick freekicks to be repeated.
