Messi touched the ball five times between the 45th minute and 70th minute. He made zero passes in the same time frame. 25 minutes of walking.

Too many excuses. Messi barely ran and he was static all match. All he did was wait to receive the ball and when he did, he either made sideways passes or was fouled. Only a couple of times did he show his true skill on the pitch and those were merely moments in an otherwise dreadful performance.

He has had more than enough chances to score goals regardless of how Argentina's opposition have played. Messi has taken the most shots in the competition and yet his only goal has come from a penalty.
