    Martin Montoya

I'm really excited about his future. He's the total package. As much as I like Dani, I think Martin is ready to take over.

Always funny when Sport and MD say the exact opposite. Dat sports journalism...

    Eric Abidal

On what ground? As long as Abidal doesn't come forward saying he was mistreated by the club, there's no story. We have no idea what the demands were on each side and why they couldn't come to an agreement. It's all speculation.

    Eric Abidal

Merci pour tout Abi! Bonne chance pour la suite! Yep. Decisions are just as bad or good as they ever were. I don't know where the idea that these things would never have happened under Pep or Laporta is coming from. So many conspiracy theories lately.

    National Team Support

I consider Spain my adopted national team because of Barça, because I like the country and because my own national team never qualifies for anything, and frankly I don't care for it anyway. I'd probably root for Catalunya if it gained independance, but I wouldn't see Spain as the "enemy".

Really? Who has left so far? crickets...

    Thiago Translantara

He started 34 of 57 matches. Yeah, he could have been rested more. But it's far from playing every game.

    Thiago Translantara

    He doesn't.

    Thiago Translantara

Because that 33 year-old "declining player" is Xavi fuckin Hernandez, not some random old midfielder from a mid-table team.

    Thiago Translantara

Okay. It's debatable because it's very possible that the coaches, right or wrong, believe that Pedro brings more to the plate than Tello, his only real competitor for a starting spot. It certainly doesn't disprove that line-ups aren't based on contracts.

    Thiago Translantara

What's in Pedro's contract that prevent him from being benched?
  14. JonM

    Thiago Translantara

The club is not selling him. It's about another club paying the buyout clause and Thiago choosing to leave. The club has no say in this.

    Xavi Hernández

The people who say that will be the first to change their tune once we lose an important game with Thiago as a starter. "But Tito (or whoever is the coach then), how can you start an inexperienced Thiago in such an important game? So dumb!!11!"
  16. JonM

    Thiago Translantara

Good thing he's not saying that then. All he's saying it that contracts have no bearing on the line-up, as a general rule. Again, it's the only way you can answer that question.

    Thiago Translantara

I know you guys like to overreact over every little quotes, but there's nothing wrong with what Roura said. All he's saying is that lawyers/administrators take care of contracts and coaches take care of football, and that contracts don't affect the line-up, which is the way it should be. It's...

    Thiago Translantara

You can't be sure of anything in life. But managers come and go and there's still nothing to indicate that Villanova has anything against him. Sure Thiago could have played more, but like it's been said on the last page, he still played 43% of the minutes he was available. Not bad for a 21 years...

    Thiago Translantara

It's ultimately Thiago's choice to leave or stay. If he can't see that he has a great future at Barça and that he'll be a starter for years to come, then maybe it's better for him to leave now. Or else, every transfer season, it's gonna be the same charade over and over. We already went through...
