Back to his best tonight. What a player!

    Lionel Messi - v7

Watching Guardiola's City play and their forwards are always alive. Always pressing, always moving, always running. Klopp's Liverpool much the same. And these are our two main rivals for the CL this year. I keep asking myself, if Pep landed here tomorrow, how would he solve the Messi, Suarez...

    Luis Suárez

Better first touch today. Hopefully Luis keeps it up.

    Antoine Griezmann

1 goal, 1 assist, you can't ask for more, especially since that role (LW of a 4-3-3, LM of a 4-4-2) doesn't suit him.
  5. EdmondDantes

    Frenkie de Jong

Second half he was different class. Shame he didn't score with the runs he was making off the ball.

    Lionel Messi - v7

I'm a bit worried about Leo. Goal and assist aside, I was expecting better fitness levels from him since he had 2 weeks to work on it during the international break. Us having to switch to a 4-4-2 to a adapt to his and Suarez' lack of pressing and movement debilitates our overall game...

    Arthur

Not his best game for sure. He looked tired.

    Sergio Busquets

I thought he was better today up until the 70th minute when he began to give the ball away a bit. Probably one of our better players in the first half.
  9. EdmondDantes

    Sergi Roberto

I hope it's nothing serious, we need him for cover.

    Clément Lenglet (loaned to Atletico)

    Fantastic assist today.

    Samuel Umtiti

Great header. Decent game, a bit rusty with his passing, but not bad.

    Ivan Rakitić

    Rakitic looks depressed.

Lliga | Round 9: Eibar SD - FC Barcelona 0-3

Professional performance after another international break, lethargic pace to the entire game, good 3 points. I hated how Valverde set Marc to play today though. Going long instead of building from the back most of the times wasn't working that well.

    Man of the Match Thread

First half no one really impressed, bits of class here and there, mistakes likewise. Second half it has got to be Frenkie. Messi and Antoine got the stats but De Jong ran the show.

    André Gomes

I managed to catch the last 30 min of Everton's game (after our match I've been watching PL non stop, in 20 min it will be Pep's City) today and I must say I've never seen Andre play as well as he did for that half hour. He looked like an absolute Rolls Royce of a midfielder out there. I know...

    Sergio Busquets

I think prime Busquets was better than you think. He's basically the Xavi/Iniesta of his position. Father time comes for every player, and Sergio has a lot of mileage on those long legs of his already. - Don't forget our front 3s though. Villa, Pedro & young Messi Prime Neymar, Prime...

    Reinier

I think he's more of a second striker than a midfielder by the looks of it.

    Jun Nishikawa

He looks incredibly talented. Japan have another great crop of young players coming through. Their U23s just beat Brazil in a friendly the other day, they've got more than enough talent to win the Olympic gold they've been striving towards.
  19. EdmondDantes

    Sergio Busquets

It could be. But I think it has to do with our front 3 becoming slower, more static and less hard working than it used to be compared to what it was during Busquets' career as our holding midfielder. Has he declined? Yes. But he's not the only one.

    Sergio Busquets

"Spain manager: Sergio Busquets needs to be used properly Robert Moreno defended Busquets amid criticism" "“I simply do not have the perception that Busquets is so far from his best version that we speak of. In the end, everything is relative and we have to speak in context,” Moreno said...
