I'm certainly not in favor of selling him so that we can keep Suarez in the starting 11 after Griezmann signs (which seems the most likely reason)
That being said, I wouldn't be too opppsed to either of the following if they were done right and we received an offer of at least 120m

No chance Messi will let this guy leave; he'd probably much rather get knocked out in the quarter finals again next season than have nobody to drink mate with or watch him and Antonella throw sand in each other's faces.
The difference with Cesc leaving is that he probably wanted to leave
No way Valverde has the courage to drop Suarez next season: back in September, Suarez was playing terribly and Valverde left him out against Eibar with Messi at false 9. We won 6-1, Messi scored 4, but guess who was back in the lineup next match...
It's going to be embarrassing over the next few weeks listening to everyone here claiming that Argentina's squad is league 2 standard or something. If they went with something like the team below, they would have one of the top 5-8 starting XIs at the World Cup.
If Samapoli could get Di Maria...
If Messi is in the top 2-3 players at the World Cup (doesn't necessarily need to win it) and then has a very good start to next season, I think he will win the Ballon D'or regardless of what happens in the CL.
less speed, worse touch, worse finishing, worse aerial ability, worse dribbling, worse movement off the ball, worse big game performances, worse shooting from distance
other than that, there's not much between them
Maybe the biggest problem with keeping Suarez imo is that if we go back to 433, the only position in the front 3 he can play is through the middle which is where Messi plays. If Suarez could play on the wings, then it would be great to keep him for another year because he could rotate in for any...
1. Messi was barely half fit vs Bayern, he started on the bench vs PSG at home, and he played right wing vs Atletico in 2014
2. Atletico 2016, PSG away 2017, Juve home and away 2017 all happened with Messi at right wing
Messi won't stick to the right wing though because he doesn't run enough to play as a winger but still come inside when the situation is right. Messi as a "right winger" is basically just playing a 4231 while he stands around the #10 space and the RCM goes out to the wing all day to cover him
You could also say that Messi RW only worked when he had two of the next three next best players in the world up front alongside him; it was a total disaster in Enrique's last season even when we had a better team individually than this season
