Only watched 2nd half, and the period from min 46 to Valencia's 2nd goal was rather good. Immense pressure on Valencia's half and many fast penetrative passes between the lines (mainly from Messi), Vidal's movement upfront was nice, the ball circulated fast, even though Valencia sat very deep...
Didn't watch the end of the game so I missed Pique penalty situation, did the VAR even check that? What is even the point of that thing if it's gonna be used selectively?
I always thought he'd end up at Real Madrid at some point in his career, it just seems like a natural arc for his character. Now with Hazard there, I highly doubt it will ever happen.
He can pander to Barca's philosophy 80% of the season and switch to his pragmatic coaching attitude in big games and final stages of CL. People forget his RM played extremely attacking football for the majority of his stay there (especially in that title winning season).
He would easily kill...
He did nothing in the first leg too.
He doesn't have a mental fortitude to succeed at a club of this caliber. It's obviously clear he mentally succumbed after the first sign of serious criticism, it got to his head and you could see he was not comfortable anymore.
Wenger made an interesting comment at HT, saying Liverpool was physically/pace-wise superior and Barcelona players couldn't keep up. There's really much to learn from this game.
Or this could end up in a completely disfunctional midfield. This is not an easy away game to make drastic midfield changes. Busquets should have started at all costs.
