I put this more on our terrible scouting and regardless of how poor he actually is, the treatment towards him has been horrendous. Future brazilian wonderkids will take note of this.
His touch does give a pause for concern given its a good indicator for technical ability, like haalands can sort of be excused because he's proven at the highest level that he's an anomaly at goal scoring.
This club is way too short term in its thinking that it hurts.
Oh, we better buy Roque even though Xavi never wanted him just so the fans presumably dont get upset over losing out Endrick to Madrid. Now we better get rid of him since Xavi stubbornly insist on not using him even as a backup...

Xavi in for another season at least. We all know El tigrinho is work in progress but he's not gonna progress if he's barely playing so gg.
Do I deserve to get burned for this take?
He's getting clutch goals and his mentality is impressive relative to our weak-willed players but his open play or the actual "midfield-ing" leaves a lot to be desired. Like a talented mctominay. Im not really swayed by his goals. Haaland gets roasted...
Its worrying. I dont think we should just look at his age and say he's young, that he'll kick on soon.
He may be 21 but he has accumulated a gametime of the average 24-25 year old, that cannot be good for his longevity.
His injury is gonna be used as a narrative in this forum:-
Barca starts performing better: " See, I told you gavi was overrated"
Barca performing worse: "Those who criticized Gavi are absolutely braindead"
