It seems likely Messi will get the provisinal transfer pass from FIFA, join Man City, go in a legal battle against Barcelona, lose the case and he won't pay the 700m clause but a fee much lower decided by the judges.
Maybe he will stay but only because Barca is holding him hostage which would be a terrible image for the club. I'm not even sure other players would come here when they see how the players are treated in this club.
La liga statement doesn't mean shit, they can't block the transfer as Messi will ask FIFA for a provisial transfer request which he will get according to law. La liga has no legal power outside of Spain and FIFA>La liga anyway. It's just Tebas pushing his agenda.
BOOM! It's over. Veronica Brunati confirming that Messi's release clause expired before the start of 2020/21 season: https://twitter.com/verobrunati/status/1299844577013256192?s=21

He can but the image sent by Barcelona would be absolutely terrible and embarassing. Imagine holding hostage a guy who scored more than 600 goals for your club.
I know and that's why for my life I can't understand why members on this forum are turning against Messi saying he's unprofessional to not show up to training. It's clear he doesn't show up because he's in a legal battle with Barcelona and if the board weren't so clueless would get 100m for his...
Well he's making himself look like a brat because if u haven't noticed Bartomeu doesn't want to be remembered as the president who sold Messi so he's trying to paint him as the villain of the situation. When Ronaldo went to Juve Perez didn't refuse to negotiate did he?

According to Pedrerol Barca will send another fax to Messi to remind him he has a contract and has to go to PCR tests. Bartomeu doesn't learn does he?
You still don't understand that Messi is using the contract to join City for free because Bartomeu refused to negotiate. Messi said from the beginning that he wanted Barca to get a decent fee for his sale.
