ter Stegen should get the Dictator :messi: talk for him. Everything will fall nicely in place then :mou:

I don't see this as blackmailing though. If he doesn't get any assurances, he will leave. Every GK at his age is playing 38+ games every season. De Gea, Courtois, Oblak and even his German competitors like Leno, Trapp, Horn and co, while he ends up with 25 IF we make it through to the CL and Copa del Rey Finals, and even those 25 games are spread over the entire season.

I understand that he is not happy, but I see it as "blackmail" simply because he was in no way diplomatic as he should have been. Saying you will flat out leave if you are not n1 next season, to the press, won't sit well with anyone in team or in coaching stuff. He should have said "I'm happy with my performance, but I would love to play more. Thats my goal and we will see what next season holds". Something vague and diplomatic, he has gone straight for the head and practically invited bids from other clubs.

I agree he should be put on goal as first choice though, and Bravo has to understand that. He has been our GK for 2 years, and he is not getting younger and MATS deserves his chance. But this is not a way IMO.

That's not what he said.

“If the situation remains the way it currently is, we have to sit down and talk. To continue like this is difficult for a keeper my age. To be honest I haven't really thought about it, not thinking about other clubs because that would be too early."

Oh wow, I read it only in my language and it was completely different. Fuck sake, that is not too bad then.

Either way, the rumors linking him to City are stupid, he isn't guaranteed the starting spot over Hart anymore than he has it over Bravo...

If Ter Stegen says he will stay with a switch then I think Lucho would be mad not to go ahead with that, and thats coming from one of Bravos biggest supporters on here.

I don't think Luis Enrique is one of those people who buckle under pressure. The more pressure the more he goes the other way I am afraid. That's why I think Ter Stegen publicly expressing his discontent is doing himself a great disservice.

Besides, I find it stupid to think him starting in the league will lose us the title. If anything that logic applies just as much to Bravo who's never made it past the group stages in the CL for Real Sociedad, let alone had the experience of playing through all the pressure games and winning it, and never played and won the Copa del Rey either.

Not exactly a CL, but Copa America 2015 says hi.

The media, the fans are turning this into a nightmare. It's not only constant speculation that worries me, this is pretty much forcing him to leave. The guy said: we'll have to talk.

We're just giving new grounds for the media in england/spain to write more harming stuff because it sells and because they don't even have to invent the stories - they can pretty much copy paste this topic and sell it.

Don't exactly relevant here. Copa America is a tournament out of the club season.

Bravo yet to be tested in cups with sporadic playing time in the season. Thats the point.

Who knows, he might turn into a Rafinha or someone for you.

I personally believe that developement for a goalkeeper happens ideally through bare routine and experience. The more games a gk has, the more shots he faces, the better he gets
Ter Stegen at this point is just playing 20 games a season, and in those games he's already faced by a very low amount of shots compared to other goalkeepers, resulting out of Barca's sheer dominance. His progress might be stagnating, it seemed to me as if he needed almost a year until he felt comfortable, most of his games he looked like he was still debuting with a nervous look on his face.

It's a difficult situation right now. I can understand Ter Stegen that he wants to play regularely, but I can also understand LE that he plays Bravo in La Liga as he's one of the three best GK at the moment and has absolutely deserved this spot. The best solution for both sides would of course be a loan to another good club like Atletico, Liverpool or something like that. Regrettably its difficult to find a top club who is ready to give Ter Stegen a lot of playing time only that he can develop and then to give him back to Barça. I hope they can find a satisfactory solution.

Atletico already have a great young GK in Oblak. I agree Liverpool would need a better GK than Mignolet but they probably won't play in CL next season (if they won't win Europa League) so would he still be interested in joining them? Maybe Klopp can convince him. I've read rumours that BVB might be interested and that would probably be the best option.

But I agree with your question - why would any top club develop MAtS and then return him to us with no compensation when he develops in a WC GK? I know this worked out well for Courtouis and Atletico but he was nowhere near that proven GK as MAtS is now when he first joined Atletico on loan. And Atletico was also not considered a top European club back in 2011 before Simeone.

I wonder if this is some kind of secret message from him.

 Love it. The man is under contract with us. He should be focused on keeping a clean sheet vs Atletico instead of talking too much in the press. Imagine the media reaction if he makes a mistake on tuesday.
