Has to be said though that Courtois was much better last season. He's not in too much of a great form either based on what I've seen.

Before today Courtois had saved 70.6% of shots and MATS 68% in the league.

No idea. I'm not a stats buff.
Mats are on 17 saves from his first 8 games (will update tonight) rendering a 68,0 save percentage. He concedes once every 90 minutes
Courtois are on 24 saves from 11 games, and a 70,6 save percentage. He concedes 1,1 goal every 90 minutes so far.
Comparable stats, that don't tell that much though.

Wasn't there some stat with last season based on shot-stopping that had Stegen bang on average for even La Liga standards? Anyway, this stuff been done to death, would love it if Xavi would bench his ass, but unlikely.

Can't really blame today's goal on Stegen. Awful defending.
Barca let's opponent way too easily inside the box.
We are too soft defensively, couple situations we could have saved from happening just by taking yellow card but we didn't. That's stupid imo. If you can stop dangerous attack in the mid, you have to! We try to play too nice.

Pass was great but these two players were surrounded by five Barca players. It looked way too easy. Busi needed to take the man down.

Good GK usually steps up in such situation rather than being equally as bad as their defense.
We have conceded from 1st shot on target in 5 of last 6 or 7 games. Some of those 1st shots came in 2nd half or after 30 minutes mark.
You can't put the blame in defense when attack barely shoot on you.
Could actually argue a defense can't defend properly when they think about the GK behind them.
MATS has knee problems, it is time to accept he is new Umtiti and start moving on

It looked easy because it was an elegant and unexpected solution. You cannot just "take the man down" every time they are close to the area.

MATS was not even close to being equally as bad as defence for that goal.
Absolutely can put blame on defence if the one chance they allow all game is for someone to waltz through defence and suddenly appear on front of you with little time to react.
That is harder for a GK than a defence that defends well but allows more chances just less clear cut ones.

If you watch the game it's a common theme in Barca defending. Way too soft. Avoid contact.
J am not saying to Lenglet it but take the opponent down in spots it looks dangerous.
