If it's not bad distribution, it's freezing to make saves. If it's not freezing to make saves, it's blunders i.e. Atletico. If it's not blunders, it's poorly reading the game and failing to react properly i.e. Cadiz.

There's always an excuse for this guy.

Yet in the near 6 years he's been Barca's #1 keeper, I still can't figure out what exactly he is great at.

I given Busi, Pique, Messi, Alba and all those seniors a pass before, because they have stepped up in the past and carried Barca to success while playing a critical role in it.

But MAtS and Sergi Roberto have been starters at Barca for 6 years now and both of them are as soft as baby lotion and never step up when needed. Always crumble.

Neuer, Oblak, Alisson, Navas and Courtois are are all comfortably better than MAtS and have been for over the last year at least.

Lol, did you watch that match? Courtois made some 4-5 world class saves. RM were very lucky to only let in two goals. If it was MATS he would have already lost confidence after the mistake and let in 1-2 more.

Have you seen Neuer's last game? Big mistake on the first goal where he came out like MAtS vs Atletico and left an open net. Could not do anything about the other two goals as defense left big gaps.
But the difference was that Bayern scored three themselves, did not lose against Leipzig and are still sitting at the top of the table. He made a mistake a week before too btw and Bayern has conceded way more goals than Barca so far.
MAtS is fine and many seem to forget that he is often saving us when our performances are being desastrous. You will always come back to Liverpool or Bayern losses where he did not do shit. But what do you expect from him? Saving a whole team that manages to play so comically bad that we concede 8 freaking goals?

People always bring this up as if MAtS is some world beater who can only be replaced by elite players.

Look at Chelsea with Mendy or Navas with PSG over the last year...All of the sudden, after signing a new keeper, the defence looks a lot more stable and the team concedes many less goals.

MAtS has literally become our version of Kepa at Chelsea...Nowhere near as good as he believes himself to be, but is too arrogant realize it. It only becomes evident to him when good teams give him a humbling (i.e. Liverpool and Bayern). But then he regains that arrogance because he can perform enough against minnows in La Liga.

I firmly believe that Barcelona will not win another CL title as long as MAtS is the starting keeper. Too fragile, too weak, too error prone, too clumsy and most evident, a very mediocre talent.

Maybe he was too confident at times and wanted to not hoof it, which would have been the sensible decision. But to say he wanted to show Neuer who's boss in that game is pure fantasy.
It's not like he didn't pull shit like that in other games.

You're trolling hard with those comparisons. Kepa and the keepers PSG had before Navas, never reached MAtS's level. Not to mention those two teams have some good defenders in their ranks, plus a game plan.
