They just bought Casemiro(who is really past it btw) and they think they can get Fati. These guys. They never learn that no world class player in their prime will come to play for Manure. I mean look at Frenkie. We practically pissed om him and he still doesn't wanna go there. Embarassing club.

I still think it was a big mistake not to do surgery. Although his impact is still very good, he is not as movable as he used to be. That can become a problem against better opponents and defenses. Not to mention the risk of your knee getting a second Umtiti. A shame, because he has a talent once in a century. But maybe I overdramatizing it, let's see the coming games.

He's more of a Cristiano than a Messi. Not very dangerous outside the box but inside he's a killer. I think it'll take a while before he reaches his full potential of knowing what he can and can't do.

Tight games where he'll try to unlock defenses as if he's Neymar or Messi will look very frustrating, up until he realizes he's not that kind of player.

He's still a kid, but these 30 minutes on the pitch were the best I've seen him play. Two mindblowing assists, his placement inside the box is exceptional as well.

He was electric. Technical superb and shooting also looked fine with the goal just like we know him.

I noticed several times when on breaks where another player would have taken the run with the ball forward but Fati slowed down the game and not running forward. It happened at least twice. I?m thinking he either was afraid of injuries while doing a long explosive run with the ball or he just wasn?t confident in his speed which may mean he has some issues with his knee?

I hope it?s the first one. With more game time he will get more confident and play natural. If it?s the second, I?m really worried he will never be the player he could have been. Also he then should play in a position that doesn?t require long runs like it would on the wing. Second striker position maybe?

I remember on this forum people wrote that players who had this thingy from the knee removed, like he had, won?t play more than a few years. Hope it isn?t true.

Does anybody know if Fari realistically can have a proper career with his knee?

Welcome back.
To answer your question, it is basically impossible to know.
Plenty of players had long healthy career after meniscus removal, it isn't a death sentence for athlete and there is a reason it is regularly done.
But it also ended a lot of careers if we are being honest.
Each case is different, and hopefully Fati will end up one of the positive cases

If he has lost is pace, which he was never fast to behind with, but stays injury free he will just have to play as a striker long term, so he starts is runs much closer to the goal, his finishing is his best attribute anyways.

Thank you.

Do you remember me from last time I was active? Must be years :O

Well okay thank you for your answer. I was worried a lot about Fatis knee. I remember a lot of people made it out to be a death sentence. And thinking about what happened to Umtiti, it made sense.

I will cling to the hope, that Fati will make it all the way. And if not as a winger then as a striker.

It's obvious why he doesn't play full games, he's the poorest forward when it comes to pressing so it'll take a while before he's ready for any full 90 minutes
