Didnt someone already say once that he had like most goals seasons in a row.
Pele is maybe the only one that has scored 60+ a few seasons in a row.

I have a 21 odds bet that Messi will win ballon D'or, la liga topscorer scoring 51+ goals and Liverpool not finishing top 3.
I think he can break his liga record if he stays fit.

Yeah, by quite the distance, goals in two consecutive club seasons:

133 Messi
124 Archie Stark
119 Pele
117 Gerd Müller
115 Cristiano Ronaldo
111 Romario

51+ in just La Liga? That's probably the least likely of everything you listed

Hence why the odd was 10.
still consider it value though given how he was on his way to score 55+ last season, had he not gotten injured and scored 55 would the odd still be 10? No it would be way lower.

It has been 289 days since Lionel Messi last failed to score in a Liga game at the Camp Nou #fcblive Since 3 November 2012 [via @champ_ian] :worthy:

Yeah that's good value. Put it this way: if the upcoming was played 10 times (ie decreasing affect of luck/chance) he'd probably score 51+ in at 4

3 Seasons

1. Messi 186
2. Jimmy McGrory 170

4 Seasons

1. Messi 233
2. Jimmy McGrory 212

5 Seasons

1. Messi 271
2. Pelé 269

I updated the quote a bit.

6 Seasons

Pelé 313
... Messi 287 (or 271+this season, so 42 goals to break that record)

....

Ha, jiopi was faster :)

raskolnikov: Pele never did two consecutive 60+ goals seasons.

The last scoreless game for him before he started his record of scoring against each and every la liga opponent consecutively.

That was also when he became a father and didnt sleep that night, he was also on a run before that I think.

And those numbers pff, can believe he is outscoring Pele, Gerd Muller, Puskas, Eusebio and the rest of them. Cristiano has great numbers as well for a mondern player.

I think you should include Josef Biscan and Ferenc Deak even though the former played in what is equivalent to a sunday league during II world war and the later played in a ultra offensive league (average of 4-5 goals per game) during the transition years after world war II had ended.

Josef Biscan

1 season 57
2 seasons 96
3 seasons 141
4 seasons 180
5 seasons 229

Ferenc Deak

1 season 66
2 seasons 114
3 seasons 155
4 seasons 214
5 seasons 235

I think those numbers, especially with Bican are very difficult to verify.
Kind of offtopic but why is Deak always considered inferiour to Puskas? I looked it up a while back and I think he had better numbers in Hungary than Psukas when they were active at the exact same time with Deak being a few years older.
Deak never had the opportunity to play in la liga but why is it so unrealistic that he would do similair as Puskas? the latter is considered to be one of the best strikers ever while Deak's numbers are shrugged off as just plenty of goals in an easy league.
