You claiming to speak for Messi now?
Last few posts have been nothing but guess work. None of us has a clue what he is thinking.
"Guess work" is being kind...
...he's tired of seeing Xavi passing sideways...
...which Messi forces Xavi to do by standing like a fencepost next to the two centerbacks. You really think Xavi is going to try to make a 20 yard pass to a player being double-teamed if that player is making no effort to drop back to show for the pass?
In the last two game, Messi has started moving again, and, as a result, Xavi has started passing it into his feet. Messi then has attempted to dribble, and was dispossessed several times, but made good runs other times. I didn't really mind the dispossessions so much because at least Messi was moving to get involved in the play, which made the whole team more dangerous.
Bottom line: when Messi is mobile up front, the whole team plays much better (finishing and Alves crosses/defence aside). It's been awhile since we've seen that Messi, and I've been much more impressed with his movement in the last two games. If he keeps it up, Barça has an excellent chance of winning the league.
