I think Leo will have been quite pleased and surprised by how well the team has done in his absence. He must have been quite frustrated at times over the past 12-15 months when the team has been hopeless without him

Didn't he say himself just recenetly we depended too much on one man? I suppose he's indeed pleased with us.

I'm certain Leo enjoyed how the team reacted and played in his absence.

It's no doubt going to be a huge confidence boost for him as well - and these past games have been a tangible confirmation that we have the support cast to compete on all fronts this season.

United coming back to win will take a lot of the spotlight off him. If Juve won 1-0 off that goal, the next few days would have been unbearable

I'm not the one updating this thread whenever CR7 scores a goal in serie A/europe or whenever messi sits out a game due to his injury.

that'd be you and any your troll pal, Pedro. :pique:

I usually post an update for each game whether he scores or not.

any news on whether Leo will start vs Betis?

If he doesn't play, he'll have gone 7 weeks with just 15 minutes of football by the time of the Atletico match

I am pretty sure that without messi in the future with the current squad quality, we are definitely not fucked like we thought. He has been out for months many times in the past few years and we have dealt with it well most of the times. It feels like when messi plays and turns invisible in the match we struggle than when messi doesn't play altogether.

You have a point. Our players get more complacent when Leo is playing and hope he will take care of the goals, whereas without him they raise their intensity level. Roberto said it himself in the interview but quickly corrected himself after realizing how it sounded like.

Totally true. When Messi is missing it seems like others raise their level instead of Messi. Suarez is a great example.
