Him coming late is hard to excuse , but I think he just mentally checked out after he is the one that got sacrificed in order to play Arthur even though he had a very good start to the season. If we were to purely look at merit , Rakitic should have been the one to get benched with how trash he has been playing this season , but that ain't happening when you have a manager that picks players based on seniority rather than merit.
Heck Im not even sure we will see Semedo playing as well as he did against Sevilla with how he got dropped the moment Roberto was fit. Then we will see the same posters talk about how ''Semedo doesnt look motivated" etc..

What's the point? Looking purely at merit? Notice that by merit you mean no more than a handful of games. That aside. Midfield consisting of Arthur-Busquets-Rakitić is completely different from the one of Coutinho-Busqets-Arthur. Dembele was dropped, and rightfully so. It improved us.

If you want to lineup players based on their whole career at Barca then your line up is based on seniority and that way you will never bench a senior player because he was horrible the past games , because : "hey, he was really good that season 3 years ago!!" . The reason Barca improved has more to do with Arthur getting introduced to the midfield rather than Dembele getting benched.

Im interested about why do you like this guy? I didnt knew about him before he was linked to barca, then he acted like spoiled child when he doesnt get his toy, when he boycotted dortmund to transfer him as soon as possible, since then im not really his fan. But what is likeable about him? He strikes me as mentally weak player who doesnt care much to prove himself and is just happy with money he is getting, thats shitty, think about how could barca invest that money better. If he continue like this, he will be hard to sell, barca will have young arda turan basically.

I liked him for his talent and he looked really good in the time he was at Rennes and Dortmund.
I mean it's the same for Neymar, people gave him shit but while his attitude and his entourage pissed me off I did like what he brought to the table. It's the same here I guess. Even to this day despite what went down last year in the Summer I still think Neymar at his peak was incredible to watch.
Dembele has the talent it's just a matter if he can get his shit together. He just needs to quick fucking around and realize that just because you play for Barcelona doesn't mean you can be late for training and slack off.
You have to work hard.

Are you talking about the 3 games were Barca lost points and everyone was playing bad while at the same time you had Pique at the back leaking goals left , right and centre. Makes perfect sense to drop Dembele then , my bad.
