Whatever reason? He was never that good to begin with.

A solid player, that you want as rotation/bench option. But not the level Barca should aspire to as a starter in the long run.

Both Xavi and Deco agree that Andreas Christensen can play as a pivot in important matches. He is considered as an intelligent player and in the past he has also played in that position. @martinezferran

It's mind boggling that Xavi still didn't try this. Christensen on paper fits the role, he played there in the past, we have enough CBs, Pep set the trend of CBs playing as DMs and we don't have other choices. Maybe Christensen surprises and we even get a stop gap DM in him for a few years, worst case scenario he will play bad but we suck anyway so not much of a downside.
