Grown men look at expectations as a realistic balance between what you have to invest, and how you invest it.

From 2020 when the shit hit the fan under Bartomeu's disastrous presidency... the club basically sold the entire main team almost. Suarez, Messi, Griezmann, Dembele, Umtiti, Lenglet, Alba, Busquets, Rakitic, Vidal... look it up. Almost all of the main players are gone.

What you see today 4 years later is almost a completely new team from start to finish. This almost never happens in a big club, in just 2-3 years to have a huge clearout.

It means there was no transition from one cycle to another, because the previous president left nothing to transition from.

It is very simple. To build a completely new team it takes a lot of funds. We built a competitive side that achieved even big titles in this timeframe for less than half the money you see other teams spending and winning pretty much nothing.

So signed contract is not enough we need to have money on the bank account. There is an actual possibility payment won't be made on time. My God what a bunch of idiots!

That BS is true, the amount of solely paper transfers that la Liga accepted as being as good as cash for financial proposes.

Unless they have changed the rules.

But still no need to panic.

The team isn't new, they just promoted all of the youth players.

None of the recent transfers have been great.

The standards of Barca fans are so low that some brazilian scoring a few tap ins is considered good, now imagine the hype for someone like Paz who is actually a good footballer.

Funds don't matter anyway if they time and time again waste them on the same type of frauds that have no consistency. Or those straight up mafia signings from Brazil.

What do you mean? Promoting youth players is a new team.

Funds matter hugely. 60m is why we have Raphinha now instead of Ansu Fati as a starter.

We already calculated future incomes from the sale of Barca Studios for FFP/SCL purposes and we never got that Libero money. No wonder Tebas doesn't believe contracts that Laporta is signing anymore.
Yes this is true

That deal with the Germans that never ended up paying hurt the club’s trustworthiness reputation

Well that’s only due to poor squad planning

In most clubs 60m for players like Ferran would be reliable rotation players at the very least.

Of course it's due to poor squad planning. But that's inherited.

Unacceptable after spending so much money on players and handing out such huge wages, to be left with almost ZERO contributions.

The question is why wouldn't LaLiga accept this particular deal without the payment being paid. Contracts don't need to be paid upon signature.

Have Nike already paid the sponsorship money for example? Did Madrid receive their SuperVIPs sales in full to count towards FFP?

If the Arab company pulled out then FFP would take a hit as it has with Libero.

This could be a sham deal but at the same time VIP ticket sales have a damn sight more intrinsic value than new medias and nft bubbles.

EDIT

And yes Olmo is a cracking player that never needed to happen at that point in time.
