Araujo: "My red card? I don't feel responsible, but it conditions the game, leaving the team with 10, there are many things in the context of the game, I know what I can contribute to the team."

Wtf, he must be apologizing left and right and instead of that he is saying this!? He is either dumb or working for a transfer.

That must be fake. Source?

Can't decide which is gonna be tougher to pull off.

Building another dream-team and smash every opposition in sight, or finally having 5-6 mentally tough competitors in the team and fight our way to a CL title.

It's not that bad,we were a red away from a likely final.

We'll be back again in another 2-3 years.

Yesterday was a gut bunch, but we can't get too doom and gloom about the future.

Ya Araujo needs to leave now. No ifs or buts. Just fucking sell him.
If after two days, after a mistake that you made that cost us so dearly. its not only the match, which was given to us on a platter and your fuck up was the main reason of us loosing, but revenue that would have helped next season to build the team up, and your statement doesnt say anything related to how sorry you are.
Ya you are one of the reason why the team is shit, and we need to get rid of this type of mentality. So fuck off right out of my club.

Edit : And if he doesn't, he gets benched till the season ends, or he apologies and then you sell next season.

Obviously one mistake shouldn't have any impact on whether he should be sold or not. But if he won't learn from his mistakes, then it's sort of an issue.

Xavi isn't helping either by authorizing this delusion that Araujo was not at fault. Manager needs to help players learn from mistakes. That hasn't exactly been Xavi's defining characteristic.

I think sometimes he ist over aggressive in his tacklings. But honestly, it's good to have players like him, aggressive players. This team lacks that mentality. We have enough players in De Jong, Pedri and Cancelo who fear rough tacklings. Gavi, Araujo'...you need this mentality in modern football. Araujo will learn to approach these situations in a calmer manner over the next years. You can take the risk of fouling in the 80th minute or so when it' s do or die situation near the end of the game but never ever so early in the game. He will learn from it, still pretty young, Just turned 25, thats not old for a central defender. It takes time to get a feeling for the right decisions in that position cos it's maybe the most difficult position on the pitch as the slightest mistake can cause brutal damage to the team.
