6 - Gavi

Luis De la Fuente wants to recover Gavi as soon as possible and is considering calling him up for the next int'l break. The coach will monitor his minutes in Barça's upcoming matches and then decide whether to call him up now or wait until March. [

In addition to recovering Gavi, Luis De la Fuente is also considering calling plenty of other Spanish Barça players given the team's tremendous form — Casadó is an option — Iñigo is seen ahead of Pau Torres — Balde too has overtaken Gaya and others

God damn man De La Fuente is basically drooling out the mouth like a hungry wolf when we either have a new prospect or someone like Gavi who is barely returning after a long term injury.

Well, no surprises there. Barça is by far the biggest factory of national team material in Spain. He can't sleep on players like Inigo and Casado after their recent unbelievable performances.
Yeah I don't blame him and it's always a cool thing to see more of our kids get a chance as well.

No surprise Barca is the backbone of Spanish national team.

I said the two games balde had vs Bayern and Madrid would guarantee his call up, so I'm not surprised by that, he'll be a starter at the WC if he stays injured free and continues to improve.

Doesn't make sense to call up Martinez, he won't be at the WC anyways, too old.

Casado deserves the call.

It was good having a few players stay home during the international break, but with how we are playing, if you are in the squad top 15-17, you'll likely be called up for your national team.

Lastly leave gavi alone.

All nice and well. Our players have been the backbone of Spain for decades and they seem to enjoy it.

Problem are Spanish refs, Tebas and co. who protect Africans playing for Mandril (guys who boycott their NT btw) while constantly allowing harsh tackles on Spanish guys like Lamine or Pedri.
Been like that with previous generation as well.

Most in-form club team at the moment is starting games with 8 Spaniards. Now I'd prefer our players getting as much rest as possible, but objectively looking likes of Cubarsi, Casado, Pedri, Olmo, Yamal definitely should be called up.

Then there are likes of Balde, Fermin and Gavi perhaps a step behind but still could perfectly well be in a NT squad.

Would be hilarious if Iñaki would get the call to be 3rd GK as some sort of reward for his form. Very much doubt it though, 1-2 OK/good games won't change the perception that he's a highly average GK.

Fake injuries.

Pull them out of international duty.

Take whatever punishment comes.

No longer those that hate and discriminate against Barca can get joy from Barca talent.

Enough is enough. :lamine:

Inigo, Cubs and Casado probably deserve the calls, but Gavi would be a joke. Guy hasn't even made a successful pass yet.

But still been better than Ferran mind you.

Reports are before each game at the euros, the players would look at a picture of Gavi, before going on the field.

The Gavi effect works even when he's not there.

It's a phenomena that's is being studied by sports science as we speak.

Barca essentially are gonna win the World Cup - like in 2010.
Sometimes other people make fun of Barça cause of how much we brag about the fact that legendary Spanish side was carried by Barça academy jewels.

They don't understand how big of a success it actually is... to be able to produce a whole generation of supertalents that carry their nation to exceptional international glory. It's arguably bigger than any trophy you can win on club level. A testament to club greatness.

And if it really does repeat again, then that would be a double testatement with two golden generations.

Exactly.

In the World Cup Final, only one non-clasico player started for Spain (Joan Capdevila of Villarreal, at LB). Three were from Real Madrid. The other seven were from Barcelona - six youth products, plus David Villa who had signed the month before. Fabregas (another Barca product) also came on as a sub and created the winning goal, for Iniesta.

Barca have produced many great players over the years, and Spain has benefited, particularly in the last 16 years.

Don't write them off in 2026. In Euros they proved they are superior to any other European nation atm. Whether South Americans can stop them is the only question, and particuraly just Argentina because others more or less suck. Highly doubt they'll get kicked the stupid way like 2014 gc, 2018 vs Russia, 2022 vs Morrocco.
