Quality's there, we just need to integrate him in the team properly. We have plenty of time untill next season.

Actually, him losing the ball... Here he has Busi and Raki sweeping up. In Liverpool that meant a chance for the opposition.

It's good that he doesn't seem scared like Arda, Semedo and Gomes.
But he needs to evaluate situations better, he's losing way too much possession.

Because he isn't used to defenders closing the gap so quickly . He gets acres of space to shoot infront of the box in Pl . How many times did he got a chance to shoot . Once against Espanyol and once in this game .. La liga defenders won't give so much space for him to work with , which he needs to adapt

Coutinho:

"We're really happy to reach the final. For me, it's the first final and it's a very special and important moment. But there's a long way to go until the final."

"I have been trying to score since the first game I played [for the club] and I am happy to have scored, although the most important thing is that the team won the game and we leave here happy."

As for the final against Sevilla in April, Coutinho predicts "a special game but a difficult one, like all finals. But we have time to prepare for it."

He was also asked about his relationship with Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi: "They have made me very welcome from the start. It means that little by little I can keep helping on the pitch."

Excellent goal. Pretty sure Messi couldn't believe how great the finish was from that angle.

Poor performance otherwise through. Gave the ball way way too many times. Should be in our starting 11 on the weekend. That should help him build some confidence.

Don't think it's an issue of confidence. Think it is him just adjusting to the rhythm of Spanish football.

Great goal, glad he's got the monkey off his back, but otherwise nothing special from him tonight. Lost possession way too many times for my liking and didn't really play any killer balls either, but he's still very new, he deserves time.

He shouldn't be playing on the right though.

He just needs to play more to get more confident. Hopefully he starts this weekend with CL coming up we might as well rest a few considering he can't play.

He was involved in the second goal as well, collecting the clearance from Umtiti and immediately releasing the ball to Suarez on the break. The pass was intercepted, but Suarez winning it back immediately in their half led to the second goal.

Love this player. He'll soon figure out anything he needs to improve his game with Barça. He's going to lose some balls on the dribble attacking, just as Messi does. And he'll soon learn he can trust his teammates here in working the ball out of the back under pressure.

Messi clearly trusts him. They passed the ball to each other about five times at one point. "Here, you take it. " No, you go ahead. "Here, you sure?" "Yeah, you go ahead." "Here, really?" "Sure, you take it." "Okay, will do."

Well taken goal, it is obvious still though that he is adapting and not on same mental frequency with rest of squad, that always takes time though.
