Suarez did play on the wing for Ajax, I know, but more as a false winger of sorts. He had a free role, basically. His best performances, though, have been when he was fielded in central positions. He might be able to play as a winger, but that wouldn't get the best out of him, I believe. If he has to play as a winger, he would probably have to be very disciplined defensively, otherwise we will be torn to shreds by good teams on the counterattack, because Messi's work rate has dropped dramatically.
I hope Lucho finds a solution for these potential problems, but Suarez's transfer, for all his qualities, doesn't make sense to me in a tactical sense. His temperament would certainly help, and he's very dangerous individually, but I fear that we won't get the most out of him and/or our other attackers because they don't appear to be well-suited to play together in a balanced formation. For me, it feels like chucking on as many individual quality up front as we can find instead of looking for a solution that would suit the players as a team, in order to maximize their individual strengths. For that reason, I used the term 'Real Barcelona', because it reminds me of a certain club in the capital of Spain. But then again, Ancelotti found a way to field his best individual players in a rather balanced formation, so I hope I'm wrong.
I don't see your problem tbh. Neymar is playing on the left wing as usual. Messi in the center as usual. Iniesta in midfield as usual. Suarez will play a wide-forward-CF hybrid role. Like Eto'o did. Like Villa did. Like Ronaldo does for Real Madrid for years. Where is the problem with the balance? It's Henry-Messi-Eto'o reloaded. Will Suarez get 30+ goals without penalties like at Liverpool? Probably not. Doesn't mean he won't enhance the collective regardless.
