I don't think he would be subservient in that lineup. It's similar to the way Tito had us lineup against AC Milan in the 4-0 Remontada actually. Suarez occupying the centerbacks, Messi still in the middle, just slightly to the right. And Alves/Alba providing width.

He won't be, I mean he ends up on the wing half the time anyway, this just brings out Suarez's full potential. And knowing messi he'll be in the middle for the most part anyway.

I think the trio has looked best with Suarez in the centre. Just because it appears that Messi is on the right on the line-up it doesn't make that the case. He'll have a free role behind Suarez and will drift to the right sometimes. The only problem with this set up is the right hand side defensively so I think it further cements Rakitic's role covering the right side of the pitch.

Not so true, remember last year 2-1 classico with messi on the wing? Messi effectievly nullified Marcelo with his presence and Alves did less of his chicken head crosses. Messi's presence commands a respect that can balance out the RW if you ask me.
