Offset it by jerking off on his girlfriend.

Yeah he gets a lot of shit on here because some fans expect him to play like Messi or Neymar. Yet he scores those tap ins and unentertaining goals continuously, which look so easy, but they aren’t. He does exactly what is needed of him.

Don’t judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree. Hehe

Lewy is capable of scoring wonder goals.
If he keeps his form those will come in time.
What I would like to see more of is his presence in the air.
In Bayern a large part of his goals were headers from crosses.
Kounde (which I think is one of Barca's best players) has been the only one who has been able to provide some good crosses into Lewy's path thus far over the past two+ seasons. Lewy's last goal came from a Kounde cross in.

Lewa is definitely more important than comments seem to suggest. Once in a while, he may even score a banger. Overall, though, he’s more of a poacher than a creator, which is absolutely critical to our success, but it may not impress those who expect a player who’s able to create and score from less dangerous positions/drive the ball up the pitch, etc. The entertainment factor is missing, the “magic” that we grew accustomed to seeing from our previous GOATS just isn’t there. Lewa isn’t that type of a player!

Anyhow didn't mean to insinuate that he isn’t important or that his output could be replicated by anyone, but rather that he may not be as entertaining as some would like our poster signing to be. Think Messi, Ronaldinho, Neymar, etc.

I like him.

As you know I agreed with you when I quoted your post earlier in the thread. The only issue with being a poacher who predominantly scores 'simple' goals (and Tookien rightly said he can score the occasional banger) is that those players are more easily marked out of games when the gap between his team and the opponent is narrower (see Haaland, though Ronaldo proved this less right in Real Madrid's three in a row, but I would suggest that was due to the sheer volume of chances he got).

What I am saying (and what I believe) is that poachers are naturally predisposed to finding it easier against teams who are much worse and in easier games. Of course this is natural and goes for all players in football, but it's especially stark with poachers for me. The reason is they don't tend to do well outside the box and when space is at a premium in and out of the box, so outside the box they are dispossessed more easily against better teams, and inside the box the space is more condensed so they have fewer options to find space and make their darts and runs. It doesn't mean they cannot do it, it just explains why so many of them are a non-entity in close games. When games are close, tight and competitive, the ability to create something yourself or for your team-mates is far more important, and that's where guys like Haaland (and 36yo Lewa) likely struggle. You can't just prowl the box and make run after run, safe in the knowledge the ball will eventually come as your mates are dominating the game so much, as a Haaland does when he scores five vs Luton, for example.

Whether this applies to Lewandowski I am not sure. But the guy is 36, and no matter what anyone says, he's clearly in decline and not the player he was (which was a brilliant striker with more all-round ability than he has now). He's doing well early in the season and against more modest teams so far, but let's see if he can still do the business when it comes to crunch time and in the bigger matches. Maybe he will but it's far too early in the season for anyone to be throwing out 'I told you so's'.

I really hope he does well all season as I have always liked him as a player and I want Barca to do well too. But I remain sceptical. However, if he's thriving in Flick's system as much as people say, he might be able to keep doing it. His age and lack of mobility is against him though and I wouldn't be surprised to see him marked out of games against Real Madrid and big CL games.

Hope this is wrong though and he is your top goalscorer and helps you win the treble.

I agree he is far away from his prime and I doubt Barca will do wonders in CL with him.

But if you look at his CL stats it seems he score many times more against strong teams than easier one. Let's look at LL teams:
Barcelona - 5m - 4g
Real Madrid- 8m - 6g - yeah 4g in one match tho but still counts ;)
Sevilla - 2m - 0g
Atletic - 5m - 2g
Villareal - 2m - 1g

Fair enough - wasn't aware of his statistical record against better teams. That is impressive definitely. But as you imply, some of those goals (like the four against RM with Dortmund) were when he was much much younger.

But yeah, we will see what happens. He's still a quality player, but people do overlook how much harder it gets as you get older (for reference I am 42 and have declined quite a lot at the best level I play it, taking into account it's still an infinitely lower level than the highest/elite level of professional football). At the level he plays at any decline is swiftly and harshly punished.

But we will see what happens. Nothing would please me more than him scoring a hat-trick in the Clasico and winding up cunts like Bellingham next month.

Just enjoying our football. The topics about selling club, selling our kidneys for the next media hype died down. And life is good in Europe as usual if you find Central Europe or some isolated spot in the West. So yes. Hope for you too
Fair enough. Yeah things are going quite well for me - the key is to enjoy your hobbies and try to do things you like in life. Life is too short to be consumed by things you despise.

@Maradona37 Who do you support outside of Barcelona? 🤓
I don't support Barcelona mate, though I have always liked them.

I think I mentioned before that I used to support Rangers but all the bigotry the fans engage in ended up putting me off. I didn't wanna just start supporting a new club as an adult. So now I really support noone, which isn't ideal, but I have teams I like and dislike. I probably get the most fun out of being an ABU - I have hated Man United since the late 80s, and watch allUnited games supporting their opponent, which is a bit sad but makes for great entertainment given how bad they are.

Cool. I couldn’t agree more on Manchester United. 😆 Love watching them lose every week despite being one of the EPL’s biggest spenders. What a shit show
