Classic no.9s are never a fit for our Cruyffismo. You need a CF who besides scoring, has a vision and playmaking qualities. That's why less physical, but more technical CFs like Eto'o, Villa, Romario thrived in the system. I'm leaving out Suarez, because the system was heavily centered around Messi's genius.
If you don't think Lewy isn't a technical striker then you haven't followed his career at all.

Pep embraced Lewy as a player when he hated traditional CFs. Klopp always used to refer to Lewy as a 9 and 10 combined. Used him as a 10 early on in his Dortmund career.

Lewy loves dropping deep, drifting out to the left flank and arriving late in the box.

He pretty much plays as a pseudo 10 for Poland with creative and finishing duties.

You're judging Lewy based on his game at 35. Most strikers can't even cut it at the top level at this age. It's like calling CR7 a poacher because he transitioned into one in his final few years.

You are correct. I'm not talking about his career at all. Nor lack of scoring. Lewa shows very little at Barcelona of what you describe him at Dortmund and Bayern. He is isolated in Xavi's build-up play until the final third. You can blame Xavi, but then again Xavi is the one obsessed with ball possession and knows his players well.

Cruyff played with a regular #9 Salinas. Later Romario.
Van Gaal from the same Dutch school got Sonny Anderson and then Kluivert.
Frank Rijkaard played Eto'o.

It was only with Messi from 2010 that things changed and now we're back.

I didn't mean no regular #9. I meant less physical CFs. Out of all the people you mentioned only Kluivert qualifies as classic #9 and he was very agile in his prime.

The origin of Cruyff's idea of #9 btw dates back to Ajax managing days with Marco Van Basten.

If he has a good performance/scores today, it could be a sign of things to come in CL.

It's time Robert. Show us you're more than the demon of Bayernliga

If you look at the users with most likes on this forum, it's the trolls in the top spots.

High volume and they basically parrot each other's takes
Yeah, I noticed that. It's all bullshit that gets tolerated sadly. A Liverpool die-hard fan is the most popular guy on a Barca forum? Get the fuck outta here.

Those automatic likes between accounts run by the same kid are a parody.
