I did not say whether you were wrong or right? Show me where I wrote that? Only that it had no importance in the discussion as Villa never will play in Italy. Villa runs as much as Eto'o did. Saying otherwise is IMO bullshit.

There have been plenty of occasions this season where Villa has missed 1 on 1 opportunities! Not just tonight and Arsenal. Pep has usually substituted him in those games as well when he is really angry with him.

If you are nitpicky about talkiing about the form of both in their respecitive Leagues, I will hazard a guess that Eto'o will score more Champions League goals than Villa this season! Even if Inter are eliminated from the Champions league on Tuesday.

I don't think you quite understand the point we're making. Eto'o was second fiddle in terms of importance to Ronaldinho but was still the primary goalscorer and central striker. Ronaldinho was the playmaker.

Messi is now the playmaker (in the last third of the pitch, anyway) AND the central striker and primary goal-getter. Eto'o functions far more as a predatory striker than anywhere else (although his defensive abilities can be utilised out wide).

I disagree that this be an excuse for Villa getting less goals. You are a striker, your job is to score goals! When you have a hat-trick of 1 on 1's there are no excuses saying I'm not the main striker/main man. Add up all the 1 on 1's he's failed to take this season and count them as goals and that should render your argument invalid IMO. Would you be still using the same reasoning if he had taken all those chances and blamed Messi for being the main striker etc. for him not getting as many goals as Eto'o?

Villa is not a striker in the same way that Eto'o was for Barcelona - this should be obvious for anyone that has seen Barcelona play over the last 7 years. The tactics have evolved.

How many goals did Eto'o score last season largely playing out wide to accommodate the more in form Milito? Maybe that would be a fairer comparison with Villa the inside-left of this season.

Or maybe it wouldn't since it wouldn't fit with your bizarre anti-Villa agenda.
