I mean usually we can tell when a goalkeeper has that quality that'd suggest he has a chance with the first team. If he has a major flaw in one area or another he can kiss his chances of making it goodbye. Goalkeeper, more than anything else, is a position that demands excellence all the way up, both because of each team only truly needing two on the team and the position being so vital to winning games.

Think of it this way: If a goalkeeper at 18-19 showed was tall and showed great reflexes, great ball distribution, excelled at plucking crosses from the air, and could control his defense, even if it wasn't on the level of the current B or first team keepers, the coaches would be able to see a potential for development instead of potential deficiencies to overcome. With all of our current crop of young keepers I'm not seeing anything that really pops out to me.
