How much will we spend on signing Bellerin and Grimaldo eventually? 60 million? Cesc all over again.

The ACL did stall his development.

Hmm...Not really when you consider he's a starter of a good side in Benfica and perhaps even in line to replace Clichy at Man City in a couple of seasons or so. Just turned 21 yesterday.

He played in the B team at 15 and was the youngest ever player to appear in the second division. He was the player really being groomed for a first team future. At 17 he did his ACL and was out for 12 months. His Barca career never really recovered.

What? He came back and knocked off a veteran and future La Liga LB on the team almost instantly, Carles Planas, then went on in the next season to become the team's best player, then he became B captain the following season. Without a single chance given by Luis Enrique.

It's strange because Adriano was hopeless by this stage yet Grimaldo never got chances. Even Mathieu playing left back. Barca played without left back cover all last season as Adriano was deemed too shit and Grimaldo was let go.

I just think but for the injury he'd have got several first team games under the previous managers and become part of the first team squad.

Everyone know that it was Lucho who had something against him. There is no argument that he wasn't good enough to play, especially with Barça's LB situation. Any other coach would've done it. It was a no-brainer.

I honestly can't uderstand why Lucho didn't give him a chance last year when we had Adriano as backup. Today we are well covered in LB position. Real problem is backup for RB position.

This kind of shit just make me angry. What is the point of buying Digne for 16m euro when you have a top talent who can provide equal quality of performances ?

Most likely an attitude problem and he didn't go on loan to Levante when deal agreed.

Some people will try and make poor excuses about it being a last minute deal or his local rival team growing up but he should have gone.

Big difference from playing well in Portugal to being good enough for Barca.

keep making excuses. he had 1 year left in his contract so what would have been the point of him going on loan?

Dry your eyes.

He could have gone on loan to prove he could play at a higher level than the B team and prove he was good enough for a chance in first team.

Unless he had decided he already wanted to go that is.

There was an option on his contract for another year anyway.

no player would have accepted that kind of last minute deal to a rival club with 1 year left in their contract. Besides Levante got relegated last season so it would of been just a waste of time for him to go to a shitty club like that. He played 5 years in the B team and never even got a chance with the 1st team. It was clear that he wasnt valued here so he left and were paying for it

No most players looking to prove their ability to the club would accept a loan deal at the last minute and this 'rival club' rubbish is childish.

There was not one year left there was the option of another year.

Barca are not paying for anything. There is more depth in the LB position than before and Digne offers more than Grimaldo does.

Good for Grimaldo if he is playing well at Benfica but his childish attitude cost him a chance with Lucho and thats on him. He will miss Barca more than other way round.
