I understand football isn't that popular in some countries but so odd that USA, India, China haven't produced big notable stars all things considered their population size etc.. and a country like Uruguay that has a 3.4 million population produces so much.

Football's popularity here is on the rise but for a lot of people they considering it a Kids-MS-HS game. I lived in the South of the United states for so long it's nothing but NFL/College American football and Basketball country down here.

But a year ago me and my dad were out driving around and I seen a dude walking down the road wearing a 2013-14 Messi Jersey. that was a very rare sight.

not enough africans there, and africa produced way too many world class players. Perhaps that joke of a continental cup being played in january is a factor.
