To be honest I along with many United fans thought that was a commendable performance from your defenders. But Barca and Messi were just better . You can't say Messi got lucky in that match as he got into dangerous positions throughout the match .
As someone said - football is a game of mistakes .The one who makes less mistakes finally wins
You fully deserved the win. But Messi's goal was an average shot and should have been saved.

Messi owned the United players in the 2011 final. Rooney even said he felt that Messi nutmegged every single United player in that game. Ever since that game, he's been calling Messi the best ever.

lol at bold part. He was always in the right place to stop attacks before they even began. I don't think you (as a United fan) watch all the Barca games to realise what Busquets' does for the team.
As for having the team drive forward, Xavi was just as influential if not more. Xavi also made quite a few tackles to win the ball and set off attacks, though Iniesta notably did that for Messi's second.

1) Going back a few pages here - I said Mata is more creative than Iniesta, which he is, stats back it up, in the final third only Messi offers more of a creative/goal threat than Mata, and he doesn't even have the luxury of a Villa/Messi in his side, has to put up with a shit Torres.
2) Messi DESTROYED Man Utd in the CL Final in 2011. Vidic made one brilliant tackle on him (akin to the famous Moore tackle on Pele), but that was it, Messi put him on his arse a number of times, scored the second, and blitzed Nani to help Villa put the final nail in the coffin. One of the great CL performances.
3) Messi is better than ANYONE in Europe even in their preferred role. He's more creative than Mata, Silva and Ozil in the final third, he's more technically adept than Iniesta, he's a better finisher than Falcao, Cavani and van Persie, he's even more decisive and potent than Cristiano Ronaldo, quicker thinker than the great Xavi and more excitingly, he's becoming more and more of a leader.
Next year if he takes Argentina to at least the WC Final, he'll surpass Maradona for good - and there isn't even a comparison as it is. Truely special player.... who has yet to score against Chelsea. ;-)

He curved the ball around Vidic's body, Watch the goal closely next time, It'll take a dishonest person to call this a coincidence, It was a genius shot.
I always loved him, but this season he's become my definite favourite player.
