Arthur

La Gazzetta is reporting that Setien told him that he doesn't count on him, so Arthur doesn't want to come back. Feel more like a damage control from his side.

People getting way too worked up about this. He is already leaving for Juve next season, and Barca only have 1-4 games left for the current season.

No need to ask him to come back with such few games left, especially considering he hasn't been used at all in the league since the exchange deal was announced.

1-4 games, yeah. with an opportunity to play for CL title.
Also, game against Napoli will be without Busquets & Vidal (suspension) Araujo, Umtiti (injury) Braithwaite (not registered) and Lenglet & Dembele are both doubtful too.
We have a very thin bench, Arthur presence will be actually needed for such game.

Aren`t you from Scotland?
Though not exactly Wales, you should know all about the talk of how "unfairly" he is being treated,

He is a legend, we aren`t going to forget his important contributions, but he simply doesnt offer enough on the pitch anymore, thats it, thats why he isnt playing much anymore.
And yet, if you would listen to certain media outlets in the UK, the story goes entirely different.

Legend is a strong word too. He’s perhaps iconic in some ways and for certain deeds only. Legend is a word reserved for a player with whom you associate mostly positive traits. Which is kinda arguable.

Nah majority of chat in UK is about how Bale has given up mostly and wants Real to pay up to see him leave or he will run down contract.

Far more is made of Bale taking piss than Real ruining him.

He is barely even discussed all that much these days anyway unless he pops up talking about golf or acting strange on sidelines.

Well, there is some of what you are describing(guessing more people are coming around to that idea), but my impression is certainly more mixed, like we "ruined" him somehow, i dont see it that way at all.

You are wrong and there is not some agenda in UK that Real ruined Bale if at all.

It is seen as him being on far too much money and rebelling a bit to try and force them to pay him up to leave.

The feeling is if they dont he will see out the two years and could well retire.

As I said. It is a fairly minor story now and barely talked about unless he acts up.

I wonder how motivated Arthur really is to play for Juve. I mean he came to his favourite club, known to have many successful compatriots, which helped him become a regular at NT level as well.
He made a strong debut and then all the comparisons with Xavi, even from teammates.

Then came the complacency, partying with Neymar not thinking of consequences, the snowboarding while injured, the alleged STD, the laziness, lack of fitness.

He was basically at the top of the world only to be forced out to a club he probably never thought about playing for. I doubt he'd imagine it'd turn out like this a year ago.

So I think him acting like this is not because he feels mistreated but because he's down that he can't keep playing for Barca. A child that has had his favourite toy taken away.

I think Juve is going to be a great career move for him.

The club and their players are so much more professional than the current Barcelona.

If he can't make it at Juve, in current day Serie A then he can't make it anywhere.

Why would Setien tell Arthur he doesn't count on him? We're short in midfield and the clown is burning bridges

Orders from the head of the clan, bro. Don't follow and your head is on a stick.

Always makes you look bad if you refuse to return to training at your club no matter the circumstances, it's just unprofessional. Unless you want to sign for Barca of course, then it's dedication and the club a prison

If the club more or less forced him out to balance the gloriously fucked up books it's understandable if he's frustrated but at the end of the day he's just hurting his own reputation with this.

Of course they forced him. They had to sell someone and Arthur was the one with little value.

Sucks for Arthur BUT they would have never sold him if he played very well. He is probably sad about his own performance.

i may not agree with the whole arthur-pjanić swap but man how i wish we showed this kind of ruthlessness towards dembele or umtiti, the players who properly contribute to nothing and are leeching huge money out of the club

He would have never played.

It's clear that is not Setien's decision not to play him anymore. (Wake up people blaming Setien...)
Setien was always giving him minutes and starts, and suddenly he is not even coming on as a sub, and Setien says in the press conference that he will play Arthur "only if its absolutely necessary" Wait.... What??

Arthur of course knows that:
"Hagrid ✆
@HagridFCB
The Brazilian's environment conveys that the player has the feeling that there is a guideline given to the coaching staff so that he does not play anymore.
@ffpolo"
https://twitter.com/HagridFCB/status/1288032214786232322

Now, about the club putting 'faith' on him and him being unprofessional,
sorry but that's all BS!

-Club bought him not after serious planning, but because all other first choice goals that summer (like Rabiot) were not available.
They didn't even know how Arthur will turn out.
He turned out a brilliant potential. Serendipity. Why the club should take credit for accidentally bumping into him?

- And all that supposed 'faith' evaporated suddenly around June, when the gang that runs the club realised that the only player they have received concrete offers for is Arthur, so he is the scapegoat that has to be sold (despite even in April and May saying everywhere that Arthur is not for sale and supposedly 'integral part' of the core for the future. They were trying to sell Semedo and Tobido back then.
What a bunch of clowns!)

- Then, about his 'unprofessionalism': Until his transfer he had a couple disciplinary incidents (snowboarding and partying with Neymar).
Could have been avoided, but it doesn't show all that much that you wanna see .
He was always training, and the fact that he could not last 90 min many times, was in his 1st yr, when he was trying to adjust to European football. Nothing to do with being professional.

Finally, he is morally (not legally) entitled to react like that when the club treats him like a cash cow..
Everybody and Barto's mother know they sold him to balance the books and not for sporting reasons.
He is exposing and ridiculing this corrupted board even more.
It looks way worse for the board than for him.

This is nothing to do with the manager , he probably hasnt even spoken to the guy.

His attitude and the fact hes been crap since he came is why hes off. As someone said its a shame we were not as ruthless with others.

So the board allow him to play minutes when an injury may end the deal that they are putting together that will balance books.

But then when deal is done tell Setien to stop playing him?

Makes no sense.

He was not sold just to balance books he was sold as he was underwhelming on pitch and a unprofessional off it. Barca could get more money for better players than him.

Makes perfect sense that he did not play any minute AFTER he signed for Juve.

Reason might be to avoid injury, but there might be other reasons looming on the side of the board.

One thing is clear: this is not Setien's decision
