And so is Vidal at 18m

Vidal just turned 31, not 32.

Yes, exactly. The list confirms this. At 30, some clubs are willing to spend some decent money as they assume he can have more more than a year left if lucky. At 31, you see a big drop off in the number of players on the list. And at 32, there are none. Except Ronaldo. Thats very telling and says alot about the decline of players. Every year matters alot at that age because you have to divide the transfer fee up into how many good seasons they have left.

No it doesnt and a couple of months does not make or break the value in this deal.

And yet, most of those players went on to perform for many years  Zlatan for PSG, Milito for Inter, Makélélé for Chelsea, Batistuta won the scudetto with Roma, etc... even Matuidi is performing great

If that were the case, you would have much more players at 31 on that list. And none at 32 or older except Ronaldo is quite shocking indeed. The decline is often very fast at that age, thats why you dont see those players there. The list also confirms that not even Chinese clubs or oil clubs are something we can rely on to offload oldies for good fees.

Final fee? 27M Euros?

https://www.sport-english.com/en/news/barca/arturo-vidal-signs-for-barcelona-6974876

According to several media outlets the fee is 18m euros fixed and 3m euros in variables.

Barto and company are killing it ATM. Gotta give credit when it's due.

Again your point falls flat on idea this would be comparable to those players if two months younger.

Lot of those players at 30 and only few months older also went for much higher fees in comparison.

Barca will get 2 good seasons out of him. That's good enough. Then get some up and coming CM after that.

The question is how much salary does he get and what's the real fee. german media says 30M and spanish media 18/19+3

Despite some idea he is ancient he will be 32 by end of that second season as well.

Funny thing is with Mathieu despite his age and some of the injuries he's gotten in the past couple of years he still has the pace that he had at Barcelona.

Which is quite amazing when you think about it.

I've seen Vidal play some great football for Juve and Chile. I saw him less at Bayern. He's been a very fine player over a long stretch, and, most importantly, he is adamantly antiMadridista. Welcome.
