There are not a lot of our departed players who do well for their new clubs. Few are established starters

Puig is probably the one doing best, but he's in a trash league.
Trincao also been playing plenty.

Then you have these who have started very few games.
Mingueza
Manaj
Nico
Collado
Dest
Abde
Lenglet

Not sure if true, but I read he declined an offer from PSG. Could also be that if he leaves he wants Valencia to get something for it, especially considering their economy isn't the best.

I can understand that as PSG have Nuno Mendes as a longterm starter so Gaya knew he wouldn't get as much playing time as he wants there. I guess he thought he wouldn't be a guaranteed starter here for next two seasons as well with Alba ahead of him but things have changed now.

Anyway, while I'd like to get Gaya (especially for cheap/free) he's also not a can't miss player especially not now with Balde's breakthrough. Would still like for both Alba and Alonso to leave next summer and bring someone to compete with Balde. World class LBs are extremely rare these days, signing another U23 talent (unless they believe he can turn into a close to a WC quality player but have no idea who that could be) also makes little sense in this situation so I'd be ok getting a proven La Liga player like Galan for example. Or maybe sign a hybrid LB/LCB (if we'll use 3-4-3 more often) like Hincapie.

Our focus should be more on finding a good RB though. Probably need to sign two new RBs but with our past experience even one will be hard to get.

The Catalan press are glossing over this mini-crisis by yet again linking us with two familiar Brazilian talents.

Andrey Santos in MD and Endrick in Sport.

Haven't watched Andrey since earlier in the season but seems he is playing central midfield now and racking up goals and assists in Serie B.

While Endrick is now making sub experiences for Palmeiras, and waiting to see if/when he explodes.

We'll continue to monitor them until Endrick signs for Real Madrid and Andrey moves to France and later to the Premier League like Bruno Guimaraes ;)

I think we lost the race for Andrey as soon as he renewed his contract in September. Buyout clause is now 40m and Newcastle willing to offer 30m+.

No way we have the funds right now to go so high on a prospect and especially one in Serie B, as excellent as he looks.

To be honest even if we had those funds I don't think we would have gone for him. I'm also certain we'll lose out the race for Endrick and Vitor Roque most likely as well, as we move too slowly with these things.

Depends on the amount. We reportedly had 8m bid rejected last December so there was firm interest. Now we're priced out as we can't afford the risk.

Even if we could afford him I doubt it would make sense to bring 18 yo DM straight from Brazil when we need someone who can start immediately.

Endrick is a different story as it's easier for offensive players to adapt and if he'd come in 2024 he should still get a season or two to play behind Lewa and integrate into the team.

He is a central midfielder tbh, and if Frenkie stays he will join at 19 and comes from the bench early.

That said, I am not sure the club is capable of such expensive risks

That's exactly what I'd do. And sign both Pedro Porro and Arnau Martinez.

Read decent things about Evan Ndicka. Contract is out in 2023. Anybody know him?

Very solid from what I've seen, would clearly prefer him over Inigo Martinez if we're looking for a left footed CB. Problem is EPL clubs are ready to pay to get him in January. Remains to be seen if Frankfurt will actually sell him mid season to not lose him for free though.
