Reminder he moved to Sporting last year for 10.5m.
Also a reminder that Mendes was behind that move and not our friend. He could have offered him to us last year for that fee, but then he would have missed out on this summers big move.
It's our job to find these guys before the 60-100m mark now that we can't compete in the market.
Balde, Gavi, Pedri, Araujo have basically given us a free lunch to find 1 or 2 cheap talents to flesh out around them.

Barca's biggest mistake over the years was poor succession planning to replace our "golden generation" the obvious replacement for at least 3/4 of them should have already been at the club while they were here.
But planas did us good with Araujo & Pedri, so thank goodness for that.
While la masia, which has always been our source for low cost players to get into the first team as oppose to buying cheap, Is back producing players
Balde, gavi, if injuries didn't basically end fati's chances at the high level and yamal.
That would legitimately be 6 players of our starting XI over the next 5-8 years, right now assuming yamal develops we are at 5.
Add De jong, Kounde, Christensen to that list, the future is looking bright.
Find a busquets replacement & a striker, we'll be competitive for years to come.
The club will take the Madrid model, which was really always the modal before Barto and what any big club not backed by oil has to do, which is go big in the transfers market every 3 or so years, and go easy in the years in-between, we are set up perfectly to do so with that age profile of our team, I'm pretty certain in 2 years we'll be going all in on whomever the hotness prospect in football is at that moment in time, let's just hope we get it right this time, with the current people in charge I'm confident we will.

His contract runs out after upcoming season unless he triggers the one year extension which is his decision and not PSGs or agrees to a new deal. Don't see a reason why he should do that unless he has no ambition whatsoever.

tbf (I know I am using that term a lot lol) we have yet to buy a Mendes agent under Laporta.
We got Adama on loan, and pushed many youngsters toward him (Nico, Balde, Lamina and Fati.)
Which is good, better than youngsters going for Railoa's agency or ROGON, he is a top agent who takes care of his clients but otoh he isn't pushing them out like the aforementioned agents.
Would love to see the club getting benefits of his scouting ability, but that doesn't seem to be part of the deal.
PS: this is why agents working as SD makes sense, Mendes has a job to scout such talent early and study the fit for them to shine. They aren't just negotiators.

A bit funny how people are so keen on Mbappe, while a big part of the forum is against Messi returning for a year or two due to how his limited workrate off the ball would affect our team.
Mbappe at the age of 24 literally runs less than 35 year old Messi and would possibly contribute even less defensively.
Also seems to have a bigger ego and be atleast as moody as Messi has ever been. Would also no doubt demand much higher wages than the 25m Messi has been offered.
He is an absolute killer tho, and the most dangerous player of this generation so far.
