Barca Transfers and Rumors

The market for free agents LB is rather grim tbh, Davies is the only good one there. No idea about the Mitchell guy but after him only Reinaldo is decent enough for backup IMO. There is Leif guy but he has a team option for another year and will be bought by EPL.

Sign my guy Nouhou.

Our old friend Firpo will be available too.

More seriously, if we are looking for a cheap backup I would just give a chance to Valle instead of signing any of these veteran guys. Will he be good enough long term? Probably not. But at least he has experience on a higher level than Gerard and would be an upgrade over him.

Probably not true, we don't need him. Could he play LW? But anyway I prefer a different profile.

He's versatile and plays as LM/LW in Marcelino's system and think he could do it here too. Would sign him without thinking twice if we wouldn't already have Olmo but now would probably be a bit of an overkill.

He's creative but won't score much. I would like to have at least one winger that can get to 20 goals. Raphinha is improving and will surely end in double digits but probably won't get over 15 goals. Yamal can score bangers but overall still lacks in finishing imo. Nico is not exactly a good scorer either tbf.

I mean if Flick doesn't survive this year, then yeah, sure he will get a chance.

But it is clear that Flick doesn't rate him, he preferred Martin and when it didn't work we are back in the market for a LB.

I think you need to start getting used to Barca without Argentinian more, my man.
While things could change quickly, it doesn't feel it will happen soon.
Not sure what the purpose of this post is, but I'm already used to it mate.
Market for the pivot position is terrible and we've been wanting young players not to be thrown in and player 24/7. Paredes is a good option to have to bridge the gap so that the likes of Casado and Bernal can develop in peace if we are betting on them.

I don't care if it's Davies or not. Just need a good LB to be a starter.
Balde has no competition, and we should have 2 top players as the wingbacks.

Balde is not top player. And it's not realistic to have 2 top players fighting for any position. Not in our situation anyway.

If balde leaves in exactly 2 years the entire forum will be saying why did we sell him.

I'm looking forward to us signing Nico, because I think he will help to unlock the full potential of Balde.

Since he's been promoted, he's basically been out entire Left wing, and he isn't a wing back, so that's not his game, he's a proper full back, he needs someone to play off at times.

It will help his defensive, because he won't be 3/4 up the pitch, each time their is an attack with a ocean of space to make up each time he needs to get back.

Offensively he will finally have someone to play off out wide.

He's not a top player now, but give him a year or two with competition, and you see how good he becomes.
The only problem for me when going with Davies is, that it most likely will be the end of Balde for us.
Or if we just sign Davies for 2-3 years then it will be ok.

I would rather have Balde in the future. So we should look for a player who is good enough to compete with Balde.

He can improve, sure. And I liked him before his injury.

Don't think he can improve much with his footwoork. If you look closely, he basically plays with one leg. Which makes him very limited

Mingueza, Zubimendi, and Jonathan David for me. If not Zubimendi due to inflated price, bring somebody else. Heard rumors that Partey could be available.

Try to offload at least one of Ansu or Ferret. And the job is done.

There was a good quote from Bayern forum. Can't remember it correctly but they said they are surprised that Barca looks so much to buy players from outside when it's been proven over and over again that relying on Barca products works best.

Willpower/motivation to play for your home club makes these guys better than many others that nominally have more quality.
