Cited from BarcaBlaugranes website:
but the interest from the club has intensified in the last few months when the first option transfer, Celta Vigo winger Nolito, did not work. Sporting director Robert Fernández and his team then shifted their priority to Sevilla's highest scorer this season, and the two clubs have been working out on a deal for months, according to sources. but Barça will keep a buy-back clause of around €10 million to bring Halilovic back to Camp Nou after the first year of his new deal.
Gameiro has also accepted the conditions, and is keen on moving to Catalonia at season's end. Unless something crazy happens, Barcelona have secured their first signing for the 2016/17 season.[/B]
Is this true?
Its certainly a better option than Fernando Torres or Luca Toni for 20m on a big 4 year contract.
luis enrique gives zero f***s about long term vision .. seems to care more about his performances at the present to secure contracts rather than the futur of barca.. i dont know i might be overthinking it
Torres on a free transfer with let's say a 2.5 or 3 mill per year is way better than a Gameiro costing 30 mill + 4 years salary.
Torres could be our new Larsson.
We dont sign people on free transfer. We sign for big money and we sign old.
LOL, the "new Larsson" is such a joke. Every oldie or garbage player we want to sign over the past 10 years is touted as the "new Larsson". Enough already.
LOL I wasn't talking about oldie or not, I was meaning the role he would have in the squad and the position.
We are looking for a striker who will spend 80% of the season on the bench, better be a player who doesn't cost us 30 mill.
