Best possession teams in football history

Looking at both national and club levels, where does the current Barca rank in terms of possession dominance (in comparison to Pep's Barca, Pep's Bayern, Jupp Heynckes Bayern, etc.)? Which teams would win the possession battle against Pep's Barca (or his Bayern)?

It would be a toss-up but I'd say Ajax team of the mid 90's, partly for nostalgic reasons, but that team was just godly. Almost as strong in possession as Pep's Barca/Bayern (don't remember the exact stats), but more direct and aggressive.
Possession-wise they would definitely give Barca a run for their money.

It painfully shows how much the Bosman ruling has ruined Dutch club football when you compare that Ajax to the one of today.

Definitely this, only way for Ajax to become relevant again is if the European super league emerges or if the leagues merge due to northern europe starting its own unioon due to the European crisis.
Both dont seem likely short term.
