He isn't bad but I don't rate him highly either. I doubt he will take over Busquets in starting line up if our next coach has any connection with Barca (and we know it will be Xavi)
Still hope it is Caqueret but he has another season in his contract

Dont think he would be signed to take over from Busquets but more to add the physical profile they have been looking for in midfield and seems he can play CB also.
Reports today are that Xavi sees Busquets as essential and Busquets has been campaigning to Xavi and Laporta for him to come back.
Same shite year after year with old players being central to team and having too much influence.
Xavi played in an era that we always had a phsyical midfield option ( Yaya then Keita and El Crack de Cancion) so it would be reasonable to assume he would be happy with this option.
Now i think its no more than media hoo-haa, and we will probably see Kamara at a Lestah or so.

Thing is, he is more of DM/CB than a DM/CM. An Edmilson rather than Keita.
That is why I don't get the idea of physical midfielder for him. A guy like Kessie or Zakaria would make more sense if it was such a case.

I think I've said it before but if we really have 60m for Olmo I'd very much prefer to send that money (well, would probably need to add a few millions) to Salzburg for Camara and Adeyemi.

Adeyemi is one of the players I like, definitely need to watch them more.
Maxence Caqueret is currently my top priority as Busquets replacement, talked about him already in his thread, he fits in so many ways, except he prefers to play on quicker pace on ball rather than holding the ball.
I think he would cost less than 20M
Isn't Caqueret very B2B? I remember watching a game that went into ET, I think it was vs PSG in the cup final. Caqueret was running like a madman for 120 minutes, he could press like a horse at full speed in the 115th minute.

I watched 3 games for Lyon this season, against PSH, Nice & Monaco. Caqueret and Bruno Gumaris were the center of midfield with Aouar/Paqueta ahead of them.
This leaves more leeway for Caqueret to attack at times, but Bruno is usually the one that is playing more advanced role and Max covering for the rest, when they don't have the ball he covers the area in front of the box.
He presses like a madman but his movement is also smart IMO
More like an Alexander Song then. It is a role we lack in the squad atleast, if there was substance to our interest in Kamara.
Maybe Xavi would decide someone like Kessie is covered with Nico.

Why do you think he would be so cheap? I know his contract expires in 2023 but think OL would still want around 30m. Probably still worth it but I'm not sure we'll really go that way. Wouldn't be surprised if Xavi would be happy with midfielders we currently have. Just really hope he'll try to phase Busi out of the team/limit his minutes rather than try to build the midfield/team around him.

Lyon is still in financial crisis and are more or less on firesale iirc, short contract and lack of buyers along very low hype while being one of the team highest paid players.
