Dortmund, albeit having brought in very good new players (kagawa, lewandowski) and with their young playres seemingly developing nicely (sahin, götze, grosskreutz, hummels ...), will imo face the consquences of playing in the EL somewhere through the season as they have prolly the most working-/running-intensive approach in the bundesliga. And they didnt learn to safe their energy during matches they already won, like during the 5-0 trashing they gave Kaiserslautern midweek, when they kept on fighting with all their power until the last minute. Thats great for any spectator but just not efficient.

Good shout there eltren! It's been a long time since Dortmund won their last title. Sammer and Moller were unstoppable back in those days.

And totally overpaid ... thats how they lured them back to germany from italy, and thats how the went almost bankrupt

Sorry, it always makes me smile when Germans talk about efficiency, a stereotype that I enjoy :)

Don't think investing 4 and 5 million in Sammer and Moller was a mistake at all. Even considering the value it had then. Dortmund made nice bucks in those days and those 2 were basically behind their Bundesliga titles and CL title. Which, in turn, made Borussia a lot of money. They were marvelous signings imo. With the biggest stadium in Germany and packing it full they had everything it takes to stay at the top but somehow they blew it.
Mistakes were made elsewhere, not with Sammer and Moller imo.
