I mean by a margin of 3 goals or more. If Milan was more clinical in those counters, this ends badly. 3-1 is not really trashing imo
True, but I mean by people saying MIlan were all over them. But yeah, in terms of the actual result, not a trashing. It sounds like the performance was and an even bigger hammering is coming, though.

I meant within each group as in finishing 1st versus finishing 8th
I don't think it works like that.

If you finish 1st or 8th, you go into the random pot. Equally, 9th doesn't play 24th, 10th doesn't play 23rd etc, it's a random draw between the segments.

Open to being corrected if I am wrong, though.

I've seen articles saying stuff like this but can't find an official uefa bracket

"Yes. UEFA has set up a tennis-style knockout phase which will ensure that the teams who finished first and second in the league are kept apart on opposite sides of the draw until the final, similarly third and fourth, fifth and sixth, seventh and eighth.

This is why every point could potentially count right up to the final matchday, even where a team knows they cannot finish outside the top eight."

You are correct. Top 8 just basically prevents you from going into the play off round before the ro16. Rest of them get randomly drawn into a play off. This time teams from the same country can face each other earlier.

That's weird. On wikipedia (yes I know, but it is generally right) it says there will be a draw for the knockout play-offs, then the round of 16.

I tend to be very into formats and permutations so I figured I knew this well, but...

It's pretty unclear though.
