Valverde has noticed Messi touching the back of his thigh for multiple games. Messi also touched the back of his thigh against Leganés, the most recent league game. His absence is most likely a caution. [@Marsallorente]

Did ya'll notice this last game? I didn't.

But forcing Iniesta to play almost every game. No caution needed there I guess.

Me neither, only in the Atletic game but that was like 3 weeks ago.

Don't remember Messi being benched for big CL match. I bet he has some discomfort. Valverde wouldn't play with fire.

Messi has not really been amazing recently in the tactics anyway but judging anything on this game is pointless really.

Not pointless. We've played 5 top games so far. Lost 2, won 1, and drew 1. If we lose tonight, it's another bad result vs a top 10 team. This makes our chances for CL slim.

Valverde's Barca has been unimpressive so far when we've met really strong teams, I'm hoping for him to show that's not the case. A good result here vs Juve, a win maybe, would sure give us confidence that we're not just about beating the smaller teams, but also about playing well in top games.

If he was touching his thigh for multiple games why wasn't he given a week or two off right then and there? This is on Valverde? He's running Messi and Iniesta into the ground like they're 22 or something.

Iniestas minutes are not even that high. Not far off half of what Messi has played.

Not even played that much more than Semedo.
