Ive only watched first half but looks like we ended with 3.6xG and that against Atletico đź‘€
Yep, game was crying out for Casado at 4-2The end was complacency for sure. But mostly from Flick. Taking out Pedri who is running the show for can't keep the ball Gavi. Then bringing Fermin on who you bring on when needing a goal not when you're defending. Awful subs
The philosophy is fine. But sometimes when you're 4-2 up with 10 minutes to go against a strong opponent, you have to be conservative and solidify the result.
Even Pep and Klopp(the most progressive managers) do that sort of thing. Pep tries to make his defense more compact and keep the ball, passing it around aimlessly as a defensive mechanism in these scenarios.
Flick is dogmatic with his system and in these situations, it's just plain dumb and naive. No one is asking him to park the bus. People are just asking him to be a bit more conservative in the last few minutes in these sort of games. Instead Flick makes it end to end and the other team still always have a shot. Slot just kills the game in these situations.
System is fine and works but as anything else is dependent on focused players. Kounde was asleep on 2 occasions and there you have it.
Barca heavily overplayed Atletico in terms of all statistical data and there is little to complain about Flick. Other than bad subs. Shouldnt sub in 2 chaotic players when you need to control the match.
Proud of the team come-back and level of football and had we had a average 9 we would have scored 6.
I agree, but on the condition that team plays 100% like they did between minute 7 to 82 of the 1st leg and not bringing in players than add no value to the team as substitutes. We are going to win at the Metropolitano and qualify to the final
