Courtois or Ter Stegen?

His distribution is spotty at best, Courtois has had some amazing 1 vs. 1 saves with Madrid and Barcelona players, and Courtois is larger and more consistent with less mistakes. As for the pressure point, don't be ridiculous; Borussia never have a chance of defeating Dortmund/Bayern when the result actually matters, Ter Stegen has no pressure on him there. Courtois played in the final of the Spanish Cup, against a team who hadn't lost to Atletico for 15 (?) years, and for the first time they actually could do so, so the result actually mattered to Atletico. And what's the point of mentions facts if they're not factors? I don't mention that Courtois has black hair or that Ter Stegen was born on April 30th, do I?

Personally would rather pay twice as much for Courtois than for Ter Stegen.

Courtois proved he can handle the pressure at the highest level and doesnt let it affect him at all.

Far and away the best young keeper in the world for me.

1. No he isn't
2. No he isn't
3. Not in a million years (the two Atletico-Real games alone should tell you that)
4. No he isn't
5 & 6. Not factors

I'm sorry but have you actually watched ter Stegen throughout a couple of games? He IS better with his feet, plus his leadship is superior to Courtois' and his reflexes are at least on par. Besides, ter Stegen being an easy sign and having a lower price does matter. The whole poll is to determine who we'd like better in our team and those things have to be taken into account.

That said, I think Courtois is the better overall goalkeeper and he's way more consistent. But I feel like some of you people only know black and white, either Courtois is the best GK in the world and ter Stegen is shit or vice versa. It's really laughable.

We need two signings next season, a GK and CB. Money isn't really a problem for us, not to mention Courtois would be worth that money anyway, and having to put in effort to sign someone is almost required for anyone of any high caliber, so I don't know why that's a factor. I don't think Ter Stegen is better with his feet, but I think that that is a skill fairly easily learned, and the most important thing there is confidence, not actual ability of pass a ball, which I know any professional GK can do.

Money is not a problem but it's not like Rosell is gonna splash 50m for a goalkeeper, plus Mou would never want to sell Courtois and especially not to Barça.

And ter Stegen has lots of confidence.

If Courtois wants to leave, Mourinho will be hard pressed to keep him, and I doubt he'll be able to put a 50 million price tag on him. If he somehow managed it, I agree, we shouldn't spend that much money, but I seriously doubt he would.

And I know Ter Stegen has lots of confidence, I'm saying having the ball at your feet isn't a skill that's only attainable to a select few goalkeepers, all it takes is confidence and practice (confidence derives through practice). So the only reason Ter Stegen is better with the ball at his feet is because he practices more with it, if Courtois did that, he'd be good too.

It's a pole for who we would prefer to come, not for who is more easier to get. Nobody said ter Stegen is a bad goalkeeper but simply Courtois is better. ter Stegen even having big potential has been incosistent, i say it's normal for his age but Courtois has been way more consistent. Courtois has handled Madrid with some great saves and even more in a huge pressure game in the cup final. He had 2 great seasons with Atletico being consistent and continuing the same way, but a guy like Hamidyk who obviously don't know much for both has found a ridiculous excuses to say that ter Stegen is better while ter Stegen had a more ridiculous own goal against USA which isn't considered by me as a serious excuse to say that he's bad but same goes for Courtois. Obviously in a discussion for who would be easier to get it's ter Stegen but the truth is truth, ter Stegen is not bad he's a great GK but Courtois is currently better.

The best we could do is to meet Courtois and his agent in and hope that he manages to push through a transfer in summer by really going for it.

Both are very good young goal keepers who will both move on to much better teams than they are at currently. At the moment Courtois is the better of the 2 as he has had a fair amount of success at club level and is the number 1 for his country where as Ter stegen is still to really achieve much in the game although in fairness he does have Neuer in front of him for Germany at the moment. I'd be delighted if we could get Courtois and I don't think its out of the question as I think Chelsea have a decision to make in the summer as I can't see him going out on loan for a 4th season of a 5 year contact.

In all honesty I don't think we can go too far wrong if we get any of these 2 in the summer to replace Valdes, and we would be set at GK for the next decade at least.

Only if Valdes heads to Chelesa, Barcelona can buy Courtois.. In any other case, Mourinho will not sell..

Why would Mou want VV, though? It's not like they need an immediate replacement for Cech. On the long stretch perhaps, but there's no way in hell VV will ever accept not being an undisputed starter from day one wherever he ends up.

VV and Mou in one team? One of them will not be alive at the end of the season
