He's been a poacher for a while... Gary a little lost.
I'm not really old enough to remember, but people claim this is what happened with the real Ronaldo and Zidane. I've heard that Ronaldo was better than Zidane for the better part of their careers and was unanimously considered the best player for most years and only now are they being compared seriously using metrics like youtube highlight reels. Can you confirm this?

Neville does have a point. Ronaldo is a super physical specimen, if he continues to be the poacher that he has become, it takes very little effort physically to situate near the penalty box. As long as his goal-scoring techniques do not decline so much that he can no longer score, he might play well into his late 30's.
The issue is, when he is too slow to dribble and beat defenders, he might have to rely on solely headers. And then the time will come when he can't outjump the defenders. We will see.

He will disappear in the next CL game and after RM will run out of the winning streak he will be even less visible.
RM is great team, they got great players for every position and so all the stars are aligned for him to succeed and all it takes for him is to poach just a few times when it matters and if he succeeds it's all fame, sunshine and rainbows again.
Meanwhile if Barca fails, it's Messi's fault. If Argentina fails it's Messi's fault.
Why doesn't Messi have Ramos to save the day when its not going well? To keep the winning mentality going.

He's right. Ronaldo will be smashing in 40 goals a season for a long time yet and will break all scoring records (apart from Messi's 2012 records).
He wasn't wrong either. Real are now dominating with fast counter attacking football.
Barca actually dominated the year after in 2015 doing the same.
