When the service dries up for Ronaldo and his team has their back up against the wall u may as well be playing with 10 players on the pitch. He is a luxury player, great when the team is dominating and creating chances for him and absolutely useless when his team is not able to get a foot hold in the match.

A player who cant effect the biggest games without scoring is not a great player, he may be a great goal scorer i dont think any one can deny that but there are countless players i would pick over him.

Even Messi at his worst would still drop deep to pick up the ball and get involved in the play and try to get something going in the attack. Ronaldo is a highlights player, i have seen him go invisible countless times in games but hey he scored a penalty or a tap in so that means he was good in that game.

I don't believe Messi ever completed a game with those all those zeros.

Ronaldo's game is all about his brilliant off the ball movement. The moment his team gets outplayed and fails to service him he gets completely useless and can't get himself involved. He was never the guy that would step in and make things happen on his own. Which is why he shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence with Messi.

Today, at moments he looked beyond pathetic.

Cant disagree with any of that, Messi also creates and scores wonderful goals, most of Ronaldo's goals are spoon fed to him with a simple finish in the box. The difference between Messi and Ronaldo is night and day and if any one says to me Ronaldo is better than Messi i just dont ever talk to them again about football as it's not even close between them.
