Daniel Alves

He was never that great at defending when the team is being pressured, but leaving him alone without cover against di maria or Bale is torturing an old man...

If he was crossing against coach orders undoubtedly it would be a snap sub, but then Barca wasn't creating anything in the ground before Fabregas was out and there were frequently players positioning as a post-man so I think he was actually ordered to do that...

I've said it all along, it's on command, people who can't see it are clueless. It's not like he's been doing it his whole career. It's definitely something they've decided to do, because Alba is crossing a bit as well, Neymar as well, there's just a lot of crossing to no one going on. Maybe Tata remembered Neymars goal in the Supercopa and decided that it's the way to go...

montoya is not an inch close to a barca starter. the kid is just... NO. he cannot dribble past a training cone

Lol have you even watched Montoya play

-------------------------------------

This is the current Barca for you, players who have big names start ahead of those who perform. 2 years ago Pep started players like Cuenca or Tello ahead of the big names because he was sick of their performances. Montoya played the Copa final against Bilbao and he was fantastic. 2 years later, Tata doesn't trust a better Montoya more than a considerably worse Alves.

Come on, Montoya is a very average right back. He's probably on same level as a Dani who is on a complete downfall in form. Montoya isn't anything to build on and just because he had a decent half against Granada you can't raise him to the sky's.

French club PSG are considering to sign Barcelona right back Dani Alves (30) during the upcoming summer transfer window. [france football]

He's a better defender and dribbler than Alves, he's faster and has more stamina/tracking back. The only thing Dani has is he has a better final ball or HAD, since his crosses seem to be deteriorating as of late. We don't need him to be amazing in attack anyway Abidal wasn't while alves was and we found balance, Alba + Montoya can be our new balance.

Sell, run and don't look back move Bartra to RB/CB along with Montoya, promote Edgar Ie to the first team and buy a WC CB. Defense solved!

How good is Ie he seems to be talked about alot and what ever happened to Bangnack?

Bagnak is like a rollercoaster performs superbly one time and flops like David Luiz the next plus he has injury problems. Edgar has been consistently good and deserves a promotion. Wont be surprised if Zubi makes him our *new* CB

I have no problem with promotion, we've won nothing this season but if we promoted Samper or Adama and let them get a good amount of playing time we probably would still be in this position but next season we'd have two new players ready for a competitive season. We could also send them on loan.

Only if we send the players to Spanish teams should we loan them. Rafinha is playing every week and is ready to fight for a spot as a starter now, while Deulofeu went to England and is playing well enough (I guess), but hasn't done any real significant developing under Martinez.

We wont regret it, who gives a shit about PSG?

We need to do what's best for Barca. Sorting out the defence is our upmost priority and Dani is one of the problems of it. It's sad but he's a shadow of the player he used to be and has seemingly lost most of of his intelligent play.
