Plus Neymar and him were teammates at Santos. I read an interview Danilo did with Brazilian site Globo when he got called up to the Brazil squad that he hadn't been in contact with Neymar frequently. Now that they're in the Selecao together, they have more contact. It'd be great for Neymar to have a friend here since Alves will be gone

The Barça forward is a very close friend of the Porto right-back, who 'Los Blancos' want to see running up and down their right flank next season. For a while now, Neymar has been trying to persuade his Brazil teammate to join him at Barcelona.
Neymar and Danilo keep in regular contact over the phone. The Barça player has asked his friend to hang in there until Barça's FIFA sanction comes to an end in January 2016.

Neymar and Danilo aren't close friends. Danilo himself said so in an interview last summer. Marca are really putting their might into this story. RM don't need Danilo, their 23 yr old Spanish RB isn't going to get benched, and Danilo won't go to a team where he is 2nd choice especially now that he is starting rb for Brazil.
Now that they've reconnected with the NT, I'm sure Neymar has mentioned to him that he should come. I'm almost positive if we're serious about Danilo, then he'll come. We just need him to hold still.

Like I mentioned before, Neymar and Danilo just reconnected with the national team. Marca is making stuff up saying they're close firends. Danilo said himself they hadn't talked in years this summer.
But I do think now that they play together for the national team, Neymar can definitely talk him into waiting for us. Heck David Luiz said Neymar and Alves tried to talk him into joining us last season lmao.

Santos always impresses me with the amount of players they manage to churn out. Alex Sandro, Danilo, Rafael the keeper from Napoli, Felipe Anderson - Neymar's mate - who was tearing up Serie A before his injury and his father's conviction, Neymar himself... all from the same generation. Apparently they have two or three youngsters who are bound to impress this year, Gabriel being one of them.
What would his fee be? I just saw an article on the mail saying that United are after Walker of Spurs, quoting him at £20 million, and I think he's awful. If players of that ilk are preposterously valued this much, what would good players go for these days...
