Didn't Bayern confirm Lewa would be playing at least one more season for them?
Then what? We truly going to sign a 35 year old?

Kahn said so at least. If they sell I doubt they sell for less than at least 50-60m.

Paying 50-60m for a 34 year old player + 20m net per year salary does sound idiotic.

True. Even Messi and Ronaldo declined that age.

Yeah. I mean he might have two more world class years in him, but it makes no sense for me that we'd commit to let's say 50m to Bayern + 35m gross per year for three years. That's 155m for a player we'll probably be looking to replace in two years.

For a team that's still in an early phase of XaviBall and might not be legit Champions League contenders until 2023/2024.

IMO you sign a guy like Lewandowski at his age for that much money if he's the missing piece from being favorites for a CL title. To maximize the opportunities to win a CL title or two.

I love this new found optimism everyone have, and that Xavi has brought so far, but we have to be a bit realistic I think. There is still a lot of work to be done with this team and squad.

Yeah doesn't fit our plan, heck Messi doesn't fit our plan so I don't see how Lewa would(he has more favorable position to messj though). He would work as a stop gap for cheap price but that's never happening.

He looks a top striker to me, i'm all aboard the hype train. I thought he looked decent against Barca to be honest but now he's kicking on. Big, strong, fast, can finish very well and has that Uruguayan spirit.

Plus he can also play at LW and cut in. Oh, and he wears a headband too.

Lot of big clubs interested in this guy. He reminds me a bit of young, raw Carlos Tevez(taller and more physical version).

His hold up play is a well documented weakness. A technical shortcoming. He has unsophisticated decision making but that can improve with time. You get the sense that everything is sped up in his mind and there's an accute need for him to be a bit calmer (especially when pressed), consistent with his application, more judicious with his on the ball choices in the final third because a lot of Benfica's attacks come to a halt as a direct consequence of his miscalculations. Won't ever be a Benzema type savant in that regard bit still very raw and young; can improve.
He's almost as physically gifted as Haaland with the killer combination of pace and strength.

For the shorter term, he should be deployed as a centre forward who presses from the front while making frantic defensive line-breaking runs to stretch the opponents. This is his main strength(similar to Vardy and Haaland).

Do not expect him to have playmaking abilities which will improve the game of attackers around him or be a significant factor in the collective build up of the team.

Think of him as a Lukaku/Haaland-Vardy hybrid with exceptional work rate.

Despite lacking the overall calmness, tbis guy has a great finish and knows where the back of the net is.

His mobility means he can carry counter attacks or make incisive movements around the box.

He has a knack of creating shots from weird angles and hammering through the ball.

His first touch is weak and he's not that strong in aerial duels.

He's pretty good at carrying the ball and accelerating with it at times. He can run down the left channels of the pitch very well.

His shooting power is reminiscent of Podolski. He's a total workhorse.

A little bit about his game and player profile if anyone's interested. Apologies for the long ass post.
